Stewart comes skating from the bench directly to Stuart for a purpose... Jeez. How do you not see he was forced to? (I'm a neutral person here... Seriously... I do not hate or like one team or the other)
How can the tie-down rule apply when a player is forced to fight?
It does not apply
"A player who is involved in an altercation, when the opponent has been identified as an instigator, shall not be assessed a game misconduct penalty if his jersey should be removed by an opponent or an official in the discharge of his duties, regardless as to whether or not he was properly “tied-down” (jersey properly fastened to pants)."
He didnt have to fight any one, he choose to fight stewert. If he didnt want to fight he could have skated away when he saw stewert coming straight towards him. but he choose to drop his gloves
The man didn't have a choice. Did you see Stewart? There was going to be a fight weather Stuart wanted to or not. So either he drops them and gives himself some type of chance, or just let Stewart pull his Jersey over his head and pummel him anyway.
The result would have been the same eithehr way because Stewart wanted a fight either way with, or without Stuarts permission.
a lot of crying in this thread. who cares if stuart was challenged. he better have been. Petro is easily our best player. after seeing perron out of a season.. clean hit or not.. you have to send a message.
