If they do fire Darcy Regier, I fully expect them to hire Rick Dudley as he lives in Buffalo and had a huge part in both the Lightning Cup winning team and the Hawks.
I have it on good authority that the "major" announcement will be that free Rohypnol (roofies) will now be made available to Sabres fans who purchase tix to the Tailgate Tent Parties! Sabres fans know they're going to wake up the morning after a game feeling ill and violated, and the organization wants to help by wiping the memory of what actually happened during the game clean from your memory with the aid of modern pharmacology. Still just $55 for a game ticket and a pass to the tent party (roofie included). Operators are standing by.

Pegula announces he regrets not making free cocoa at the fireplace in the Sabres lockerroom available to Local fans during this long road trip. Oversight like that won't happen next year.

If there is any type of press release or announcement; I expect it to be about the ECHL purchase.
I'd assume that if there is indeed an announcement it would be in the form of a press release and not a media conference. If the team calls a media/press conference and it ends up being about the purchase of an ECHL franchise/arena you know what is going to hit the fan with some people.

If Pegula's making a huge announcement I doubt it has anything to do with an ECHL team. When I see huge I think of something like a coach or GM being fired, or trades being made. With how things are going I don't think a huge announcment would be that he bought an ECHL team.
He might still be buying one I just don't see how that would be anywhere near a huge announcement.
If it is today, he will not be replacing Ruff since they have a game tonight. I would not expect them to change GM's in mid season. Maybe he is making a huge donation to UB to start a hockey program.

Did Pegula say there was a huge announcement or did that blogger just say there was? The blogger could have heard there was an announcement and easily added Huge in front of it. Everything is all speculation at this point, but I find it hard to believe there is a massive announcement regarding the Sabres front office until one is actually released from the team.
that's what I was thinking... I would think if something were going to happen, people would be all over it
