Smith-Pelly to Edmonton, let's do this!

What would it take from Edmonton to bring Smith-Pelly to Edmonton? This guy would show you why Edmonton have one of the loudest buildings in the league.

Edmonton's offense is set, the goaltending looks solid with Dubnyk and Bunz. Look at those nasty defence prospects that they're developing.

I don't really see what Edmonton would offer that would make us part with DSP.

Ok, what would you offer?

The organisation rates DSP very, very highly, so unless you can offer us a #2 center signed long term for a package around DSP we're done here.

Unless the Oilers first round pick is involved I doubt that they would want to part with him.

Neither team would explore the options. Anahiem would be looking for too much as DSP is one of their better prospects that they feel can be a consistent contributor very soon. Edmonton definitely has some prospects that are at DSP's level but it just becomes lateral move imo. DSP is a good prospect but his upside is limited imo. He looks like he'll be a real good 3rd liner in the NHL and the Oil really want to overpay for that.

Why would Anaheim want to trade a 19-year-old player who made their opening day roster out of junior? On top of that, who does Edmonton have that Anaheim would want?

Not going to happen. Anaheim is going to see what DSP can do.

The Ducks biggest needs are top 6 centre, #1 defender and physical top 9 wingers. Unless your offer fulfills one of the first 2 then no because he is the 3rd need.

Yes he is! No one wants Gagne and a weak second round pick for a player who made the roster right outta junior.....

Gagne doesnt fit our needs. He is a tweener and we need a legit #2. DSP was a high second round pick and he has more then outdone expectations since then.

DSP was rapidly improving prior to leaving for the world jr's you're shortselling his upside. much rather have him over PRV for instance

Surprised no one mentioned his work ethic yet. This guy eats sleeps breathes hockey, and fights for a roster spot day in and day out. It sucks he had to get injured, ide love to see what he coulda done a full season in.
