The primary reason he's in the LNAH is so he can be close to his family.

I don't think the two things are the same. The CHL is a minor league (on the same talent level as the ECHL) while the NAHL is a basically a goon league. I would think that the Flyers would be a lot happier if Brashear was playing in the CHL than a league where is he fighting once or twice a night. In 12 games, Brashear has 95 PIMs (just under 8 PIMs per game). I believe that is second in the leauge behind Jacques Dube who has 131 in 12 games (over 10 per game )

Hey pelts,

Where are you getting your NAHL stats from? I haven't been able to find a reliable source for such numbers yet.

http://www.rds.ca/semipro/

I believe that it is the French Canadian version of espn.com, so it is in French. However, it's pretty easy to figure out what you are looking for.

This is the only site that I know of that has any NAHL info. I was hoping the tsn.ca would also have NAHL coverage, but it doesn't.

http://www.lnah.ca has the stats. It's tough to find them at first, though. Click Statistiques at the top, then General under Classement, then pick the team you want.

Quebec is 9-2-0-1 and Brashear has 2G, 8A, 10PTS, 95 PIMS in 12 games.

Brash isn't fighting twice a night. He's been in the odd scrap, but he's not like Link Gaetz out there. I'm actually plesently suprised that Brashear is out there fighting, would have thought he would be avoiding it if he didn't have to.

Let's not go crazy here. First of all, 2 goals in 10 games in not all that impressive (translates to about 16-20 over a full NHL season). Secondly, he's playing against older, career minor leaguers, so forgive me for not being all that impressed.

As for fighting, in 10 games, he has 4 fighting majors. He also has a number of roughing minors and 2 game misconducts. In the game against Sherbrooke, Frank Bialowas wanted to fight him, but Brashear declined the offer.

Brashear has earned the reputation as one of the toughest in the NHL, top three easily. Guys are going to come after him to make a name for themselves, Bialowas would get destroyed by him. If Brashear fought every guy in this(or any other) league who wanted to fight him, he would be gone by the second period after three wins.
