I'd have to be well over 90 years old, so no.

I am a former Habs fan though so I've definitely seen them win about a half-dozen cups in my lifetime.

To all of the Ranger and Leaf fans...

Stick with your teams. I believe they both have a good chance to win in the next few years. I waited 39 years.

I have had ST in Boston for 10 years. My hope was the B's would win before I was too old to go to the games (or dead) . I remember 1970 and 1972 but could not afford to go to games back then. It was still fun.

If your HF board is anything like the B's you will have a blast with all (or most ) of the posters. It makes you close....kind of like a big strange family. I met (for the first time) a bunch of the B's HF folks at the parade.

I still smile when I think of winning that cup. I didn't expect the B's to win it all so it was very sweet.

Good luck.

Leafs fan, wasn't even born until almost 20 years after their last cup win, so no. I do remember their 4 different trips to the conference finals, though (the 2 trips with Gilmour, and the 2 trips with Sundin).

Personally I'd say the current Senators team has never won a cup, period. Ottawa went through a span of roughly 60 years without an NHL team, there's nothing remotely close to a continuous history there, they happened to also be called the Senators, but it's a completely different team. It'd be like Vancouver counting "Vancouver Millionaires" wins, Winnipeg counting "Winnipeg Victorias" wins, etc. The only difference is that the Sens happened to chose the same name as a past team on this go-around.

I said this above, but I consider the old Jets to be the same team.

when the avs won the first cup i remember being at a sports bar with my babysitter (i was 7 or 8 in michigan) and watching one of the games on a big screen there.

when the avs won the second time, i was at a family party (all die hard wings fans) and they wouldnt watch the game. i had to find out the outcome when my cousin goes "damnit, they won"

I was 11 but I remember it as well, the 1970 Cup is a bit fuzzy in my memory though.
I think I remember it more because there was my dad and a few other guys watching game 4 at our house and I was just getting excited because they were, but it was also the beginning of me being a lifelong Bruins fan.

Well you probably weren't a Thrasher fan so I don't think this counts.

And no, I don't remember when the Rangers won the Cup as I was too young and probably wasn't even watching it.

After 39 long years it was very special.

To most posters on the B's board it was the first cup they were alive for. It was very fun to share the moment with everyone.

I was surprised at how many fans from other teams were cheering on the B's.

I would love for the Bruins to repeat but don't expect they will.
