Looks like the players have heard Roy......we current have the 4th pick overall and hopefully we can move up to the 2nd pick overall by the end of the season. This is exceptional news for us.......that would be the best pick we had since.....1980.

This will be great for our org. in the long run. Can you imagine this team with Yakupov or Grigorenko next year?
Some of us are literally dreaming about a scenario such as this, and it might come true
And if Patrick Roy coaches us with a competent GM, imagine the buzz around the team next year! It will be unreal, everyone will soon forget the 2011-2012 season and we might even become serious contenders once that draft pick matures for a year or two.
With the 2nd overall pick, the Montreal Canadiens are proud to select from the Minnesota high school 5' 6" 157 defenceman David Bustaroni. Bustaroni received the Mr. Hockey award in 2011.
1) get the second overall pick - draft a franchise player
2) start to revamp our centre position - get rid of Gomez, Gio (make room for Grigs or Yaks
3) try to trade for another top 5 pick (we do need quite an overhaul after all)
4) try to deal for Radulov
5) fire Goats and Cunney
6) hire Roy to coach
7) deal Gill, Moen, Darche, Weber, Gio, Campoli for draft picks
8) see Markov come back healthy for the final 10 games (we don't need him helping us move up in the standings, now do we?)
I think some of these are actaully quite achievable.

That would be so funny.. I'd laugh.. then cry.. then pull out the shotgun and scream FML

I think I would cry first, then pull out my shotgun and scream FML.... after all is done maybe then I would find time to laugh... and scream FML all over again

How many teams are in the lottery draw for June?
Bottom 8? Bottom 10?
(thanks in advance).
Really want our Habs to get the 2nd or 3rd overall pick.
I always want our Habs in the playoffs, but this could be much better for our near future (getting a 2nd or 3rd overall pick).
Actually...top 5 overall would make me happy, but this is really our chance to get a 2nd or 3rd overall pick (Yakupov or Forsberg?).
I really hope it happens.
Thanks for the info! (Carey Price and MathMan).
Important info for our Habs' future and chances of moving up to get a 1st or 2nd or 3rd overall pick...
So, even if we end up 6th or 7th or 8th worst NHL team, we still have a chance of moving up to 4th, 3rd or better...great!!
ALL non-playoff teams are IN the lottery draw (from what I just read from you guys). I like this lottery draw system!!
