Sandis came back, Norton came back...now Stuart?

Hell, why doesn't DW sign himself?

He can't fit himself into the cap. Doesn't want to overpay on July 1.

I really don't like posters tossing around the word "leadership" based on someone's physical appearance/watching them play or someone else using the word for that player without giving specifics. The word is grossly overused around the sport of hockey.
Assuming one thing then refusing someone else's assumption of something else? Not contradictory at all.

If DW is going to insist on signing veteran defensemen I would prefer Hannan to Wallin, Colin White or vandermeer....

I wouldn't. Hannen kind of sucks. White's been a lot better and Vandermeer has been good all year.

I don't know, maybe I'm just nostalgic, but I remember him as being a solid shut down guy, had some epic battles with Forsberg...I don't watch Calgary games so I haven't seen him play this year, so maybe he has deteriorated a lot

In general though, I'd really like to see some of the younger prospects given a chance at least for a few games, just to see if they can handle it, some of them were quite impressive in the preseason

I really dislike all of this trade Murray talk. It makes me nervous... I don't want him moved anywhere.

Honestly... I'd love to have him back but I'd want him to come in at discount. I don't want to pay the overpriced D-market value for him

Well, the idea is that he would take a discount or not listen to other team's offers so he could come back to be with this family. Otherwise it's dumb to talk about this.

I would expect it to be somewhere between 3 and 3.5 mil for 3 or 4 years as reasonable for Stuart.

after being around Lidstrom and Rafalski do you think he may have something to bring back to SJ to share with Braun and Petrecki and Doherty etc..Abelstshauser. this is a no brainer, for the right price

Not the issue. My answer would still be no.

I don't understand you answer. You don't want Stuart or he didn't learn anything he can bring back?

I thought he meant "no" as in Stuart isn't a leader, not that he wouldn't want him back. I'd love to sgn Stuart, but I agree he isn't known as a leader in the locker-room. He's always been one of the quiet players in the locker-room. A more skilled Kent Huskins.

EDIT: Nevermind then.

I don't want Stuart. I do think he learned things that could be helpful, but I think the original issue remains.

I looked at the roster at the time of the trade. There was not a good hockey reason to be shopping Stuart for a forward. Stuart was being shopped before the trade was made. Not the same as Primeau or Sturm. If they had just wanted a forward for a dman, they would not have been sending out Stuart's name specifically over the wire.

I will remind others that I have said that Nolan would not be back and that has been exactly the case. I don't think that the case is as strong for Stuart, but I do think that it is still very strong. And, I do agree with the reasons, moreso for Stuart than Nolan.

Yeah, but that doesn't mean he can't show the young bucks a thing or 2. Experience is experience and Brad is a talented NHL Player with a lot of experience.

I don't know if he's a leader, but I doubt it too. That doesn't reinforce Easy's argument that he isn't a leader though as Easy is always saying public demeanor can in no way show you how good of a leader someone is.

What issues with Stuart are you referring to Easy?

With Buster, I thought it was b/c he was a tad too negative (cantankerous and an a-hole to Patty).
