Agreed about the defense. Looks like they're starting to be more aware of the back door plays and being aware of players without the puck. Buffalo had some REALLY good chances tonight and it took another freak bounce to beat us. Not worried.

Christ! We can't score 1 goal/game otherwise we will be 1-8-1 in our last 10.

Miller gives up easier goals than that recently. I don't know.

Does anyone else see all these so so Goaltenders, or good Goaltenders from bad teams getting the best of us? Even when we're winning the game! Even when we win aside from Mason against Winnipeg every Goaltender the last two weeks has played their best against us.

Kiprusoff, Khabibulin, Pavelec, Miller, even Bryzaglov who is good, but not that good!

This is just happening too much.

We could legitimately lose every one of those games.

I just love the fact we were the team Buffalo was able to snap their 12 game road loss streak against. Classic stuff.

They'll be lucky to score 8 goals in those 5 matchups..

Really, it's time for the captain to step up and lead this team. They're going to have to beat some good teams coming up here so this doesn't snowball out of control and Parise has to be, not good, but GREAT down the stretch.

I'm starting to think he won't get a SO all year. The team in front of him is bad in their own zone and when they are, he has an off night. That or a bad break like tonight.

Seriously, 1 goal/game under an offensive system? Thats disappointing really. This stretch run after the ASG is going to be hectic as hell

Because there's not enough creativity on this team, not enough traffic in front and, most of all, not enough killer instinct when a good opportunity presents itself. They'll floob it or shoot it into the chest.

First period yes 2&3 Kovy was on fire. And in the first he was no worse then every other player throwing the puck all over the place.

Ya I was mildly kidding but if they don't learn to turn the intensity up and bury their chances, this is gonna be a loooooooong stretch run and a longer offseason.

I have no idea. He shot it straight into Miller when half the net was open.

No way Marty sits after a week long break.

It's true, Parise is going to be looked at when times are a little rough. I don't know what he does behind the scenes but as captain he needs to get the team going. Drop the gloves if you have to send a message.

Huge game against the Rangers.

Spot on and I will add not enough team speed and blue line support in the offensive zone.

The Devils are a work in progress and will struggle to find consistency until they get a few more pieces in place. I personally think if Larsson keeps improving along with Fayne and Tao growing we have a chance to be quite a bit better in the second half. Hopefully Greene comes back soon and is up to speed quickly too.

We are in contention, but we can't beat these jabroni teams Goaltenders! Okay Saturday we didn't create good chances, Thursday we did, but Thomas is Thomas.

Tonight we made plenty, and yeah Miller is good, but anyone watch him as of late? He's sucked. Every Goaltender that usually is good, but gives up 4 a night somehow plays good against us the last 2 weeks aside from Mason.

How do we actually get some past the consistently good Goaltender who play for good teams like Lundqvist, and the Rangers? Either of the Flyers guys? Fleury, and the reinvigorated Penguins?

We need a big run like last year second half. We need a second half 05/06 run or one close enough to it. We have the 2000/2001 Elias right now. We have Kovalchuk. Parise has been invisible the last few games, but damn if it won't take $8 million a year to bring him back! The Defence isn't even as BAD as it used to be. All the Goaltenders are owning us.

I hate the bounce excuses, but nothing for nothing we did get some bad breaks tonight. Kovalchuk's shot too high, a post we hit at the end, the goal Marty gave up with the glass. He should have had his first shutout! Instead we give Buffalo their first win in 6! WHAT GIVES!?

Parise just needs to score. when he scores it gives kovalchuk cofidence. all that line needs is a goal seriously. Parise is trying , but nothing to show for it i feel like he is afraid to take a shot that is further then 5 feet from the net. O and who else thinks parise should have had penalty shot on his breakway?
