Done. On my way to pick up Plek in Pittsburgh and driving him to Chicago.

Not bad value. But the picks most possibly being 25-30 & 55-60 are not good enough for someone like Plekanec. I'd prefer less pieces but better.

Anyhow, I don't think Habs should move Plekanec.

Not too familiar with Morin or sure if this would work cap wise for the Hawks....but it appears the type of return we would want for Pleks....

I'd rather not move Morin, but value is fair, and anyone who says it isnt and just dumb. I would rather put in Pirri or someone.

Great trade proposal. Fair for both sides. I'd also be hesitant in moving Morin however.

Yeah, I am hesitant to move Morin as I think he will be a good all around winger who scores 25 goals a year. But, Plekanec is a really good C and puts us over the top. As for the cap, Frolik would eventually have to be dumped for a mid to late pick, not needed until the offseason though. Montreal could have him in this deal without adding if they wanted him.

Wouldn't he be your 3rd C tho? Seems expensive for that role.

I see. Plek can also play solid minutes on the PK. I guess it would make sense for you guys. It would help us out tank Tampa, New York and Carolina. Good deal all around

I know how you feel. I get attached to players too and I don't want them traded, even if the deal is good.

Would love to see it

Sharp-Plekanec-Hossa as a 2nd line would be amazing to watch over next few years

The value is good, but I don't see how or why MTL would do this. They are looking to retool as opposed to complete rebuild. So trading Plek would be a backward move. His contact is decent at 5M for 4 more season. He isn't having a great year, but I think we all can agree that is is one of the better 2nd line centre in the league. But if you look at around the league, look at the free agency list this upcoming summer, they aren't any good centre. So I'd rather the Habs keep Plek, and find a way (possible through the draft with a high pick), to another good Centre.

Would make the current Hawks beastly, but I would feel so guilty giving Morin and those picks...although Hawks are stocked nicely in the prospects department.

I don't really know much about Morin but it seems like a pretty fair trade to me.

I'm a habs fan and I' do this. But I'd add another mid level prospect like either Philippe Paradis or Phillip Danault.

If they finally decide to sell all vets, then this is a deal I'd potentially do. Ofcourse I'd shop the **** out of Pleky in hopes of getting a little overpayment, but fair offer.

If we add another prospect you have to take Olesz too. Or you add a 4th and take Frolik.

I have to coldsteelonice84 for putting together an excellent OP.

It's rare to see a solid deal for both sides on these boards, and when I see one, I have to say good work.

I as a Habs fan would have some trepidation making this deal as Pleks is a great 2nd line centre. But I do see Eller moving in that role (defensively he's pretty much there--offensive he is progressing to there by next season IMO) so, I would do this deal.

If Chicago wanted Gill as well I'd add him in there if we could wrestle away Frolik somehow

Okay, so make it Marcus Kruger, 1st rd pick from 2012 & 2013. We need a center man.
