Have to agree, big fan of IPAs but it's one of those types of beers that some people just won't like.

Recently discovered Belikin, the beer of Belize. Very similar to Guinness. Pretty good beer.

I really like the new IPA from Amsterdam Brewery, Boneshaker. It's unfiltered and very, very hoppy/cloudy. Really good beer.

Not offended at all. If you bottle your beer in green bottles, you do not care about your beer. Yes, I'm looking at you Rolling Rock, Heineken, Stella, Grolsch, Beck's, and probably a few dozen more that I'm either forgetting or don't care about. Spaten used to bottle in green, but have learned from their past.

So much wrong here.

Labatt isn't a beer. It's a crappy brewery owned by a huge international corporation. They make many different crappy beers.

I don't know why you'd include the information that you are Canadian because it doesn't matter unless you are attempting to make Canadians look ignorant.

Come on people, Heineken is not that bad.

Anyways, for you IPA fans out there lucky enough to live in the Indiana / Chicago area, you have access to one of the best in the country:

I'm not sure why you're jumping down his throat.

He likes that beer. And it is beer. Stop being pretentious. If he likes the beer, it's the best to him.

Probably one of the people who thinks craft beer is better just to be a hipster.

Exactly. Who cares what one likes and what one doesn't like. Taste is highly subjective. As an old adage goes, "what is one man's junk is a another man's treasure."

Taste is highly subjective, I will give you that, but the mass-produced swill guzzled down by the general public is complete crap compared to many imports and craft brews. Just because people drink it doesn't mean it's good. Lots of people love mcdonalds but I guarantee I can whip up a burger a million times better myself. Heck, lots of people have never even tasted "real" beer and don't know any better.

How do you determine it's good?

One could be the sales of the product.

In which case, it is a good beer

You misspelled La Fin Du Monde for the first one

but no, I'm with you on Heineken, I refuse to drink the bottles because without fail it's going to be skunked. If it's all that's at a party I'll just have water or soda instead. On tap or in can it's better, but still falls way short of a number of offerings for the style.

The poster literally said that it was in his bottom five. What are you ranting abput?

I like Stella, dont know why so many pick on it.

From finnish beers Karhu is best. Don't really know any small brewerys in Finland.

100% spot on. Comes down to marketing... and Labbat, Miller, Coors, Heineken, etc. have to be damn good at that if they can manage to convince people that their beer is actually GOOD and that it's what beer should taste like. Many people I know that drink that stuff drink it because they want to be social with their friends at bars and have never tried real beer. Usually when they do it's a real eye opener for them. Guinness and Sam Adams are about the only mass marketed beers that I find good enough to drink on a regular basis.

Marketing, marketing, marketing.

Check out the movie Beer Wars, you should be able to stream it for free on Netflix if you have that. Real eye opener.

i wasnt picking on the poster...i didnt say any derogatory about him, his post or his taste in beer. i was simply throwing in my 2 cents i guess.

And ive been known to throw back a few Stella's if you put them in front of me, not bad at all.

Did not mean it offensive way.
