Toronto will be a buyer. Burke has said so. I expect the Sens to add.

Not really sure if buffalo is a seller. I mean they should be, but can't break up the family.

With Toronto being tied for 7-9th in the Conference, I can't see Burke being anything but a buyer at this point.

Why would he scrap 3 years of work when the team is so close to the playoffs?

Florida will be a buyer absent a collapse immediately upon return from asg.

They can not let this get away.

Not familiar with Floridas assets, so what do they even have to offer? I cant see any players outside the core that are worth too much to bring something in

Buffalo's fans want them to be a hardcore selling. Buffalo's GM seems to still be convinced that this is a Stanley Cup contender if it wasn't for injuries.

Because selling off key future assets to finish 8th and get bounced by a far superior team like the Bruins isn't always that good of an idea? If Burke isn't going to get anyone significant I can see why he would pass at the deadline. Of course he won't, but it can be argued he should.

If Winnipeg loses two or three of the four games on the road right after the break... betting they would be a seller

Burke doesn't seem like a rental type guy.

The 'deadline' deal would be something like the Phaneuf deal where it's a legitimate hockey trade

Devils will be a buyer unless they are really far out at the deadline.

You should add a middle option of doing next to nothing, which is where I hope the Blues would be.

Burke is smarter than that. He obviously wouldn't be selling off any "key future assets", but I can see him taking a run at better talent with a roster player or 2 + a pick in order to improve the team.

This is what I was implying. As I said above, I could see something like:

Mac + Dman
Kule + Dman
Dman + pick

to upgrade a position with more "elite" talent.

Depends how they play straight out the gate after the ASG, they have the next 4 games at home IIRC. Tampa actually has a decent record at home. The homestand goes bad, agreed they are definetly sellers, but the possibility of a run is there.

Probably. If we play well after the All-Star Break I can see Fletcher going out and getting a player for the playoff push. However, if we play anything less than .500 hockey I'd rather see us selling off a number of players.

They have the deepest prospect pool in the NHL. They have plenty of bullets to shoot for the moon with a deadline move. Though I don't expect them too.

I expect the panthers to trade some middle-upper tier prospects to get a playoff push rental

MTL might actually look to add players for next year instead of picks, for example maybe Gill for up and coming player rather than a 2nd round pick for example.

How have you not moved New Jersey, the team that already has traded for depth for a playoff run this year?

Didn't you hear, Lou is gonna deal Parise for a late 1st rounder and a 25-year-old 3rd line foward.
