The Flyers just acquired Simmonds, why trade him so quick?

Still pretty fast.

Fun to watch him fly through the neutral zone get in the offensive zone.

Murry won't get you Voracek, sorry.

I'm sure the Sharks would have to add. A 2nd?

Why trade Voracek? The guy has played very good. I'd rather trade a player to be named at a later date (maybe 3rd rounder) for a Murray-ish player.

We aren't very interested in picks at the moment so that wont work for us, but can that work for Philly either? I thought they pretty-much needed to swap or drop salary.

Salary is a wash. How is value? Who would need to add?
Are you trying to give the Flyers the Cup?

i don't think the flyers would consider moving voracek if the return is a guy like murray. voracek is a big, talented 22 year old forward with a lot of potential who is still an RFA, douglas murray is a 31 year old 4/5 defenseman.

does this really sound like a good idea to anyone, besides sharks fans?

if we're losing one of our core, young forwards with the potential of someone like voracek, i think we could do significantly better than douglas murray. He would be a great piece to have, to add some physicality to our blue line, but trading voracek for him is absurd.

i'm not really sure who, nor do i want to necessarily state any specific names, but if douglas murray is the best we can get for voracek, i'd rather just keep him. as i said, he's only 22 years old. i think people forget that sometimes. he has a lot of potential and upside and a lot of talent, and is still an RFA after this season. it's just a matter of consistency with him, and learning to use his size better. if the direction homer thinks he needs to go in is a defenseman like murray, i'd much rather send a 2nd and a prospect to carolina for gleason, and keep our young core forwards.

Well I figured that, which is why I said Murray-ish type player. I guess picks could work depending upon the player but I just don't see Philly moving a young forward or any d-man for picks (unless it's a mediocre D-Man and a great offer)

Voracek and a 1st got Jeff Carter. I hate Carter, but he's well coveted (obviously).

We can get more than a #4 defenseman for Voracek

Flyers could trade 3rd and a prospect for Hannan or Sarich (if Flames are out of playoffs) or trade for Gill if Habs are sellers. Now, Hannan & Gill or Sarich are not better then Murray but it is much better then trading Voracek.
