I had high hopes for Matia Marcantuoni, but a slow start and an season injury(?). What round do you see him going?

Of what I read about him he has great wheels and is a great skater. That will always elevate a guy in the draft. No idea where he would go but the nhl loves good skaters.

So far I have only informed myself about the Top prospects, who are potentially 1st or snd round picks so I make only 3 picks.

1 (2) Mikail Grigorenko - C - Quebec

Because he is the bpa at #2 and could be a verty good all around #2 C. Something we are searcing so badly.

1 (18) Slater Koekkoek - D - Peterborough

Great D prospect. Me and others had him at around #10 before the summer. He is out nearly the whole season with an injury. Could make him a steal at #18

2 (32) Tom Wilson - RW - Plymouth

A physical right wing. With potential of a 2nd line RW. Something we could need very good. You could hope for Eberle, Rieder, Pitlick as the RW's for the first 3 lines inthe future, but you never know how the prospects will do at NHL level, and all 3 could probably play at other positions, too.
Some depth at forwards, and a physical presence wouldn't hurt, imo and is important, too.

What a great draft it would be for us!
Adding a #2 C, an interesting potential 2/3 D and a physical RW would be awesome for the Oilers.
I doubt that Wilson is still there at 32, though. We would have to trade up probably.

happy days indeed!!

Why are people including a pick (#18) the Oilers don't have? I realize Hemsky could be traded for a 1st but it's a bit premature, no?

Feel free to post a mock with no pick at 18. I just happened to project that in my version, there is no rule either way that you have to include one or not.

Using Gagner plus a second rounder, we have two in 2013, it would be interesting if a team would bite at that to go get him. We have four LHD prospects and could use a RHD IMO.

4TH OVERALL PICK- Mathew Dumba- D
25TH OVERALL PICK- Stefan Matteau- F
32ND OVERALL PICK- Martin Frk- F
34TH OVERALL PICK- Dalton Thrower- D
44TH OVERALL PICK- Tom Wilson- F
49TH OVERALL PICK- Andrey Makarov- G
62ND OVERALL PICK- Tyrel Seaman- F
64TH OVERALL PICK- Dylan Blujus- D

You better get more then the "#34" pick trading out of 2nd overall, even it's just to 4th.

Also, the Oilers can likely do better then Hemsky straight up for #25. They also won't trad Josh Green, imo, because OKC is poised for a playoff run.

I think Barker to Philly makes alot of sense.

As for the Mock, that's alright.

I like the thoughts of grabbing an extra pick and going for one of the Russian WJC goalies.

What would you think the Oilers would get for the 2nd pick? 4th overall and?

#34 and atleast another 2nd or a prospect. I realize it's only 2 spots, but from 2 to 4 is Malkin to Ladd, for example, so you don't move it lightly, imo.

IMO EDM only trades down for Reinhart++
So that would be a 5-8 overall .

Well the Sabres have two second round picks.

To Buffalo:
2nd overall pick
63rd overall pick
123rd overall pick

To Edmonton:
4th overall pick
34th overall pick
41st overall pick

That's currently a team like NYI, Tampa, Montreal, or Winnipeg. To trade down that far, I'd want at least Strome, Connolly, nothing from Montreal would do it, or Scheifele added. Even then, I'm not sure I'd want to do it

Really? Wouldn't trade our pick and someone else like Gagner for Montreal's and Subban? You'd have to really think about that trade.
Do that trade on draft day you can walk away with Subban and Dumba/Reinhart. I'd call that a pretty good day.

I think he'll go somewhere in the 2nd now.

He has amazing skating and his hands and head were catching up to his feet.

If he wasn't hurt so much and his hands/hockey sense kept developing like it was, I think he would have easily been a top10 pick.

1st round (2) Grigorenko
1st round (25) Vasileski

I would love to see us get a goalie if possible.

No goalies in the first round, unless they are Carey Price

So point missed. It would be more like

To Edm: Picks #4, 34 and 41

To Buf: Pick #2 (and MAYBE something very small)

When was the last time a trade-up at the draft ever included a roster player?

Mikael Samuelsson is the only one I could think of.

Send a message via ICQ to t0psh3lfclu7ch
I think the oilers will realize how soft grigorenko is compared to yakupov and if they dont get first overall they will swap picks with columbus to acquire him
