this doesnt make good sense as brown is a right wing which would make him a second line right wing behind kessel and leafs would be giving up 3 first rounders for a 2nd line winger who scores about .75 points per game. he has great value to the kings so they are not about to give him away but consider he scores similar points totals to grabo on the leafs and i dont think many teams would offer more than a 2nd for grabo.
As much as the Leafs would love to have a guy like Brown, that is way too much to give up for him. And honestly with the Kings in "win now" mode I doubt they do it either.
Overpayment but still really addresses no need for the Kings. The Kings need goal scoring wingers.
Don't care. At that return, I'd do it and try and flip Schenn and Kadri for a winger.

1/4 would be a 1st or Kadri. Brown's worth more than that, just not nearly as much as the OP is offering.

My sentiments exactly. While it doesn't fit a need we have now, and really would make us worse in the short term, we'd likely win this deal huge unless Kadri, the 1st and Schenn all flop from here on out. I love Dusty, but my goodness I'd do this in a nano-second.
A good way to see who derives player values from NHL video games: if they're willing to overpay drastically for Dustin Brown. IRL he's a very good player and a great leader... but in NHL games he a top 5 power forward. The same can be said for a lot of PFs, they tend to get really high scores because of their physical attributes, guys like Brendan Morrow and Chris Stewart for instance. If you see someone selling the farm for one of these guys, it's a pretty sure bet their evaluations of players come from EA.
would anyone give their top prospect, their top defensive prospect on a good long-term contract, AND their 1st AND THEN their 2nd... for a guy that consistently hits 55-60pts a season?

I would offer Kadri, Macarthur and a 2nd. Doesn't get it done but I'd be hesitant to offer much more that that.
Why the heck would you even offer Kadri? He's looked good so far with flashes of brilliance and even moments where he likes to line guys up. Does NOTHING for us to bring on another 55pt player - we are STACKED with them.
