horrible. 3 quarters for a dollar. no chance. bogosian isn't going to be traded, especially for that. awful proposal. i'll counter with:

wpg: scheifele and a 1st in 2012
chi: toews.

yes, you're proposal is that bad.

No offense, but yours is way, way worse even for a comparison.

Laughed out loud when I read this one,and I'm a Hawk fan.

Remove Froese and add Leddy +2nd pick and Winnipeg might not hang up the phone.(Not that the Hawks should pay that much for him,but that's probably closer to what they'd want.

Leddy>Bogo last year

Leddy>Bogo this year

Leddy>Bogo in all future years

Well that's one heck of an argument. I take Bogo over Leddy this year and into the future.

Far, far, far superior defensively, and has shown as much offensive upside as Leddy.

If Leddy is so damn good, he is your answer. You don't need to be trading for Bogosian.

Didn't think you guys would be so high on Bogosian to be honest. I see him as a solid No. 4, maybe a 3 in the future. With a very weak prospect pool, I figured you guys would want to stimulate that so nvm.

You obviously haven't watched him this season then.

Playing 25+ mins of ice many nights and has been our best defensemen, I like Leddy, but he's not on the same level in my mind because of the things that Bogo can do defensively.

That's nowhere near a fair return for a top-pairing defenseman who's 21 and will still get better. If you really see him as a number 4, I think you're mistaking him for another player. I'd value him as highly as Doughty at this point.

Really bad comparison

You can say the original proposal sucks, but do try and avoid comparisons between Toews and Bogosian. That's really freakishly off. The Leddy deal might be more palatable if people in Winnipeg are familiar with Leddy's game and significant upside.

No, I only saw the Jets play early in the year, and the defense was pretty brutal then as you guys know. Good to hear he is finally showing promise. Bad trade partners.

I honestly had no idea Jets fans liked him this much. Thrasher fans were using the "bust" word this time last year.

I ask this innocently though -- is he a 1/2 defenseman on a good team?

His performance last year warranted the criticism, but whether it be the change in scenery or just growth and development he has looked awesome for most of this season.

On most teams he is probably currently a number 2 minus teams like Nashville but he is only 21 and it seems like he gets better every game

Maybe not this season but in a couple of years, yes. On Chicago, he would probably be a guy that would replace a player like Keith or Seabrook if they moved on in a couple of seasons.

Last season he was horrible, but I think the change of scenery and a very good defensive coach (Charlie Huddy) has helped him tremendously. The only thing about his game I don't really like is his constant passes across the face of his own goal, but he has excellent puck management and is patient in the face of aggressive forechecking, he's positionally sound and has a great shot from the point as well.

Having watched both last year and this years Bogosian, I don't think there is any player in the league that has made the turnaround he has from last year to this.

About your question, yes, I really think so. He carried our D with Enström and Hainsey our earlier this year, and he did it pretty damn well.

I think we're good trade partners but Winnipeg would have to want to deal Enstrom or Hainsey. Young but talented prospects (read: Morin, McNeill, etc etc)

I doubt they want to do that but they have what we want, it's just a matter of giving them what they need.

Enstrom is a whole different story (and there is a thread about him right now).

Even though Hainsey is signed for another season and playing well, I COULD see the Jets moving him if they thought they were getting a lot in return. I don't think they would move him just to move him right now because moving him would cause another hole that would need to be filled.

But a proposal that Chevy couldn't say no to would be a different story I would think.

Glad to hear he's turned it around. Certainly a lot of pressure to be drafted one pick ahead of Pietrangelo.
