SOLI'S SHORTSIDE

- Oscar Klefbom is 50/50 to play tonight. This is the fear with Klefbom... he's injury prone. If he goes, Larsen plays 4R and Pitlick is scratched. Fasth starts tonight.

- Tonight begins the 4 game home stand during which Ryan Smyth will pot his franchise leading PPG because story lines. (story)Book it!

- Dallas Eakins today in the media scrum: "The one mistake that I made early in the season was implementing the swarm defence. We weren't ready for it. It left us exposed."

- Teemu Selanne will not play tonight.

- Games of interest: DAL @ FLO. Dallas played last night but are scratching and clawing for a playoff berth. Need Florida to pull this one out.

I still don't like the idea of playing Fasth against the team he was just traded from.

I like the decision even less after the weak goal he let in on Wednesday to lose us the game.

I think that we can all agree on one thing.
regardless of the score, we want Hall to get points.

Ahh the old "my system is perfect, it can only be failed" rationale. Excellent.

I really don't expect it will happen, but this season has been an undeniable disaster, and the coaching has been no small part of that. I really hope he is gone the day after the season and the search for a veteran coach starts up. Still hoping for Laviolette.

On topic. I expect the Ducks to put forth a much better effort tonight than last game. This one could get ugly if our top line doesn't have one of their nights where they control the play.

Is he not admitting that he made the mistake of using it?

IMO, the goals caused by the breakdown of the swarm were distinguishable from the softies that Dubnyk and Labarbera let in consistently. Say what you will of confidence and a broken psyche, but there were some horrendous goals that could not be attributed to anything but the men behind the masks.

The one good thing the swarm did was that it DID expose our goalies. Better to realize what we really had now than two years later if the rebuild was finally gaining traction and all of a sudden we realized how sucky our goalies were.

It's a good thing when our games are broadcasted by anyone other than Sportsnet. Not only do we get a better viewing experience, but their staff aren't afraid to rip in to our coaching and management on the air. It's a win win of quality broadcasting and bad publicity for Katz and the old boys club.

Not even worthy of using the "GDT:" prefix?

I knew that looked weird... couldn't put my finger on it. Sundays are just the worst GDT days. Mostly I worry about getting the roman numerals correct.

Realistically, all players are injury prone. I would rather think of it as some players are more engaged than others. Therefore, throwing out " injury prone" is to me, a negative commentary of a player. I used to say it as well without thinking what an assanign comment it is. End

Meanwhile back at the ranch. Oilers again feeling comfortable knowing vacation is around the corner will play loose, good hockey.
It's just like ground hog day!

4-2 Oilers

I gotta admit, I'm a little disappointed that this wasn't a Game of Thrones themed GDT.

A combination of the two could be the greatest thing in the history of everything.
