it seems like baseball season just ended yesterday but i cannot wait for it to start up again.
With the players my ChiSox lost to free agency/trades and having one of our most expensive UFA signing ever come off the worst year for a MLB hitter IN MLB HISTORY, talking about Adam Dunn of course, I hope our Devils will be playing past the month of june because if they don't, it'll be a long, looooooooooooooooooong summer for me.
P.S. I taught Kenny Williams wouldn't make any more stupid moves when he took Alex Rios off waivers from TO but he amazed everyone by trading for a already broken down Jake Peavy and one upped both those brutals decisions by signing Adam Dunn.
How can you make all those retarded moves and still have a job is mind boggling to me, is it not?
It would surprise me if they didn't. The Pirates are still run by a bunch of cheapskates.
It's pretty hard to be financially "responsible" when you've been the laughing stock of the NL for the past 20 years.
That and AJ is just brutal. If the Pirates would be taking on his entire salary, that would mean that Kenny Williams would be in charge of that team but unfortunatly for me, he's stilling running things in Chicago.

Wouldn't even be surprised to see Burnett have some success in Pittsburgh. So much less pressure, and his division just lost their two biggest bats in Pujols and Fielder. Plus Braun is suspended for 1/3 of next season barring the appeal.
Who's the next toughest hitter in that division? Holliday? Soriano? He'll be much better over there.

Probably Votto. But you're right, he won't have to deal with all the great hitters in the AL East.
Heyman tweeted earlier that the Pirates don't want to trade Jones. I honestly don't care what they trade, just get rid of AJ.
Yeah there's no room for him, but if they take on most of the salary, I think they can get a decent return for him. Dont just give him away for nothing.

be happy to defray any of Burnett's $$ to move on from him

#Yankees telling #Pirates absorbing $10M of AJ's $33M isn't enough, won't do deal at that level. I'm surprised. Thought Yanks would (cont)

Sounds like Cashman is playing hardball, even though he is theoretically bargaining from the position of weakness here.
