Drake is terrible.
His voice is disgusting. People pay money to listen to his nostrils?

Haters gonna hate. But Drake was probably the best part of this years pathetic All-Star Game.

So can they be any more obvious they want this game to go to overtime and a shootout?

What a joke of a format.

NHL really going strong with the kid shtick. "Annual classic shinyfest played on outdoor golden pond just like kids driving to the game in Jaguars" and now this schoolyard pick a player nonsense.

Whens the snow carnival, field trip, recess, snowball fight, "sportsday" and participaction awards..?

I'm waiting for Bettman in a clownsuit.
I actually quite enjoy the fun little draft thing they do... i mean players stopped caring about trying in the All-Star game a long time ago so you might as well do some stuff trying to spark some fan enjoyment.

The draft actually gives us a few laughs, a few comical story-lines like the Kessel-Seguin thing or the twins being split up... just something new is all it is... the east west thing was boring as hell anyway.

I agree with you though that captains should be from seperate conferences. I figure the host should get one captain and then you pick one from the opposite conference.

But honestly, for all those that dont like the format or the skills or the teams or whatever I say this: The pime problem with the all star game is the players dont give a damn.... for good reason. At least the NHL is trying to entertain us with some crazy stuff that isnt the same every year.

Im sure ithe NHL isnt interested in absolutely perfecting the format so long as the NHLers are only half interested in playing in it.

I think for the most part the players enjoy it, especially the younger ones. It's a fun weekend away from the hectic nhl season.

Oh yeah im not saying they dont have fun once they're there... Im saying that the players obviously arent going to try very hard for fear of getting hurt, and even that a good chunk of players dont even want to go.

It says a lot about the general state of the game when guys are worried about getting hurt over the All-Star Game weekend.

For sure.

As for the game...I honestly tired to watch the game but only lasted for about 10 minutes. Total garbage.

What a complete waste of time.

Not really. It's been like this for at least 15 years. And it's the same in basically every sport.

Yeah, and it's a problem. This is a proverbial game of shinny. Accidents happen but the potential for getting seriously hurt shouldn't even enter their minds in this game.

Baseball made their all-star game matter. It is really sad to say that any baseball game is more exciting than hockey.
