Karlsson has a fiancee?

WHAT DA ECK?

Also, Karlsson looks like a kid that's been through a lot on his own so I can see where his confident attitude comes from.

Confirmed what we already knew. His arms don't match the rest of him.

Anyone else notice that Karlsson starts most of his sentences with "No I mean"?

As a linguistics major it just really stood out.

He's been doing it for as long as I can remember.

"No, I mean uhhhhhhh.."

Zibanejad says "Absolutely" in every single interview.

Interestingly enough (at least for me, and maybe the linguistics guy) I think a lot of it has to do with the way reporters set up their questions. They rarely ask open ended questions, instead they begin with a statement and ask for confirmation.

e.g.

They don't ask: "What do you think about Alfredsson?"

They do ask: "It looks like Alfredsson has had a positive on you, can you tell us about it?"

or "Has Alfredsson had a positive effect on you?"

These kinds of hockey questions always require confirmation before explanation hence the constant "yeah for sure..." "Absolutely" etc...

The funny thing is a lot of the time when he should be saying "Yeah, I mean...", he says "No, I mean....".

"You really like Alfie eh?"

"No, I mean, yeah he's been great to me...".

It's just one of those conversational mannerisms he'll probably shake over the years. The way he's going to be speaking English when he's 25 is going to blow how he is now away, and I'm not slighting his command of the language now. Just listening to Alfie at 23 the other day was a surprise to me.

Gotta say, I've loved how he's handled the media so far, in addition to the THN interview. I felt at the start of the year this weekend would be a bit of a coming out party for him in the spotlight and he's looked every bit the part. Fun to watch.

Just got this issue in the main yesterday and was extremely excited and proud to see Karlsson grace the cover.

First Spezza gets the cover and article of the new Sportsnet Magazine, TSN has been doing non-stop features on the Sens and Alfie and now EK gets some massive recognition with a 3 page article....loving it!!

Definitely one of the best reads on a Sens player they have ever done and I'm definitely going to be pulling pages to post on my wall.

Everyone go out and grab it!

She is doing what Sens management should do...lock him up young.

Karlsson is really developing in front of the entire NHL. Big ups for him and the team.

His confidence and drive reminds me of Forsberg.
