Taylor Hall - The Next Face of the NHL

With the future of Sidney Crosby in more doubt today than ever before, the time appears to be at hand for this league to find its “new face" of the NHL. While there is no player in the league today that is on the same level as Sid, there are many great players that could possibly inherit the role. The obvious choices to most would be players like Jonathan Toews or Steven Stamkos and while both would be good choices, in my mind, I see only one player that would be both willing and able to deal with the scrutiny that such a role brings. That player is the Edmonton Oilers Taylor Hall.

Nowhere near good enough.

Just stick in Pennsylvania. Malkin & Giroux.

Hockey's already popular in Canada. Stars of Canadian teams aren't going to be marketed as heavily as stars of American teams.

I don't think it'll be Hall. He's not dominant enough to overcome the fact that he plays in Edmonton and not one of the major Eastern cities.

I think it'll shift to Malkin if he can keep making highlight reels. Seguin could be one too if he reaches his potential.

At no point in this article do you come close to justifying this statement. You make an attempt at arguing why he is willing and able, though I personally disagree with it. And you certainly come nowhere close to a conving argument for why he is the only player for that role, when there are better and more prominent stars already.

Hall isn't even the best player on his team (inb4 Malkin response). RNH has more of a chance, but the NHL likes American markets so likely Stamkos.

Giroux, JT, Stamkos are more likely. Hall's not even the most likely on his own team.

He needs to learn to skate first.

Every time I see him, he's falling down.

I'm not even convinced he'll be the face of the Oilers.
