something tangentially Worcester-related, but today Philly called up former WorShark/SJ Prospect Carter Hutton. It's injury fill-in duty only, but interesting nonetheless.

Question:

Although they haven't been getting the results as much as everyone would have liked, they seem to be out shooting their opponents a lot, and the majority of the time it's been by a good margin.

Is this reflective of their play? Have they been a tad unlucky lately or do they just fire in perimeter shots they aren't really a scoring threat?

Goal scorers score goals. The WorSharks have basically no goal scorers. Therefore, the WorSharks score very few goals.

Sorry I'm late to the party LOL.
It's kind of a running joke now that when we're behind the WSharks twitter feed will keep pointing out how we're outshooting our opponent.
A vast majority of those shots are nothing shots.

Little late I'm sure, but are you feeling any better about the team these days with the addition of Kennedy and Stalberg, etc?

It kind of seems like the org is addressing issues, while obviously a bit slowly.

Absolutely no way McCarthy's goal went off a post, had the perfect view of it and was 100% sure it went in. At the start of the game Livingston was telling the refs there were a hole somewhere in the net but they didn't seem to look very hard at it. The whole "we looked after the game and didn't see a hole" nonsense seems totally legit .

I think our playoff chances have gotten better with those two (and the "addition" of Guite, who has missed a boatload of time with two injuries)...but I'm not sure I'm feeling better as a whole though because they haven't really addressed any of the issues.

When the seasons' over there will be more on Kennedy coming here (I will say SJ didn't go out and get him specifically to help out SJ or Wor), and Stalberg likely wasn't part of the early season plan for here and the way things worked out would have come here even if we were cruising with a huge divisional lead.

I can't find one person with a good view of the play who thinks the puck didn't go in.

A better question to ask them would be "what would you have done had you found a hole looking at the net after the game?", because while it didn't matter in the end it could have mattered under different circumstances.

Can you imagine missing the playoffs because some stripe on the ice couldn't be bothered to look at the back of the net? It could have happened.

Mike Moore has been suspended three games for fighting after leaving the penalty box on Sunday. He lucks out a little because the rules (70.4) calls for a six game suspension.

In Mm opinion, an untilmely and selfish decision. In fairness to the emotion of the moment, his decision puts the team in a big hole for effectively 4 games in a critical stretch with now only 5 health dmen. I cant believe I am saying it, but hopefully Petrecki is close to returning.

It was definitely an emotional decision on Moore's part but to just let a guy go and jump you and continue on his way isn't really a natural reaction for anyone. The staff in the penalty boxes tried to alert the refs that something was going to happen and the refs ignored it.

I am assuming he knew the rule and he could have waited until the next shift and then its another 5 minutes. I never played the game but he had 5 minutes+ to plot his revenge. Instead we are short a dman when we can least afford it.

I do not. I think that the veteran presence in Syracuse and Springfield will get the last two spots. The sad thing is that this team has overachieved my origiinal expectations.

I'm assuming he knew it was a game misconduct but didn't know there was a suspension involved.

Stalberg talks about signing with NHL Sharks, being with Worcester, learning to be a pro hockey player, etc.
