Word is there will be more announcements today...not sure if it's just Bonneau and Jon Matsumoto, but there will be something more later.

If Ferriero can't find any takers in UFA does anyone think he resigns in WOR on a two way contract like John McCarthy?

I think that's unlikely...certainly not impossible, but I don't see it happening.

He's a super, super nice guy...I don't know anyone that has a negative thing to say about him. I do hope he gets his shot at the NHL because he's more than earned it.

Enforcer Jimmy Bonneau has been re-signed to an AHL contract by the WorSharks...he still has to serve three games from a suspension last season.

I totally agree. He didn't look bad when he was called up a couple of years back. I know he's a defensive dman who can crush people with big hits but I was surprised by how well he handled the puck at the time.

Thanks for your first replies to Ryan Del Monte ... Could anyone tell me a little bit more about him?

What else would you like to know? He's a little taller than Quirk, a little heavier, and has the exact same skill set. They are essentially the same exact player

No it's absolutely ok if you say that he's exact the same player
If he's doing like Corey last season we will have a lot of fun with him

FYI ... Corey has signed with JYP (first Finish League) this summer!

Nice article on Stalock. Sorta makes me wonder if all the WOR signing mean the org is paying extra attention to field as good a team as possible this year in order audition Stalock and see what they have in him.

Not a chance. They already know what they have in Stalock...the only question about him now is if he's completely recovered from the nerve injury.

That's part of the point I was trying to make. The org seems super high on him already, just certain questions lingering about the injury. How many starts do you think he sees?

Presuming no injuries/trades/whatevers, I'm guessing a 70%/30% split here in Worcester between Stalock and Sateri...that's about 50 starts.

I think Dylan Demelo is also signed?

I also suspect one the 3 below will have a good shot at making SJ out of camp as the seventh dman.

Pelech - He can be a great 7 dman in the NHL
Irwin - Will likely get a look
Acolatse - Could impress with a great camp but likely another full AHL year needed.

I dont think there is anyway that Doherty isnt a regular in the AHL lineup.

Under the current CBA he's too young to play in the AHL.

The NHLPA doesn't like the agreement between the NHL and CHL so it's possible that might change as the NHLPA tries to get some language in the new CBA that covers those under age 20 players...

From sharkspage.com:
In one afternoon WorSharks go from pretenders to contenders

This is good news for both Worcester and SJ. Winning breeds winning imo and more importantly... having savvy vets with the young guys and going through the ahl playoffs is big for player development.

Great read thanks 210!
