If the Ducks are actually expecting that type of return, then he's gonna be in Anaheim for a long, long time. Sure, he's obviously a great player, but you'd be pretty hard-pressed to find a GM in this league willing to blow up half his team for Corey Perry. If he's dealt at all, it's not going to be for nearly as much as people think.

....personally I doubt he's going anywhere

EDIT: this all kinda reminds me of that thread a few weeks ago where some people were saying that if the Leafs want to trade for Getzlaf, then Kadri, Schenn, Grabovski, Kulemin and a 1st would be a good "starting point".

Debate the value all you want, but the fact is that there's not a snowball's chance in hell that Burke pulls the trigger on a trade like that. You don't fill one hole in your roster by shipping out all your valuable assets in one package, leaving a slew of other holes in that are now next to impossible to fill, save for free agency.... where you inevitably end up having to pay certain players almost twice as much as they're worth.

Trades aren't just about matching a player's NHL 12 value bar.
Oh no, how will we live with such a tragedy?

People keep saying this like this like we Ducks fans have been making offers over the last few months using Ryan, Perry, or Getzlaf. You guys are the ones looking for some justification to land our players. I don't think any of us give a **** about landing yours. Our only hope is that Murray keeps the slow burn going through the draft and a few minor trades, here and there. You people seem to get angry that we aren't willing to lose our best players.

He's got 8 goals and 10 points in his last 10 games and 10 goals in his last 16, ya he's awful, Anaheim should give him away for garbage

I don't think I'd do this deal were I Anaheim. Maybe on NHL 12.

^Yeah, I thought about that too. Why would Vancouver take on Perry's salary if they wanted to chase one of Weber/Suter over the offseason?

Because adding Perry for the original rumoured deal gives the Canucks almost 3 million in cap relief.

unless he's traded for Weber, a little far fetched but not impossible since Nashville has been craving true offense for years. Then again why wouldn't Anaheim do something like this?

This is true, forgot about Ballard's healthy contract.

Interesting idea, maybe a three team trade?

I think the only piece from this Anaheim would actually desire would be Schneider. Raymond provides a little scoring for the second line, but would in no way be able to replace Perry's production. Also, it provides the Ducks with nothing for the bottom six, which is the area where their talent level drops off completely. Ballard could be okay in Anaheim, but who's to know? The first has very little worth.

You should think before you post...

Burke made that trade. I was referencing the one Murray made a few years ago, when Pronger was definitely not the best defenseman in the league. That's why I said our GM made it. Perry is reigning MVP, he's not far of Pronger's value then.

Canucks don't need Perry. We need a defenseman. No use selling the farm for another forward.

As a side note, I'm pretty sure 394 Kilometers would be considered a neighbor in western Canada.

Nashville could be interested in Ballard? They will need a replacement and with both Suter and Weber's future in NSH in question. Supposedly Nashville is interested in Raymond too.

Who do the Canucks want from Nashville? Other than Suter/Weber I wouldn't want anyone.
