New logo based off of All-Star Game video on CBJs website

first off, there is a cool video that can be found on the CBJs website about NHLs creativity department starting off their process of creating the all star logo. in the video, it shows someone going through an old concept book, and in it was this logo:

pretty cool, right? i decided to go ahead and recreate it in illustrator (keep in mind this is only the second logo i have ever made in it) C&C on it would be awesome. what do you guys think of this? could you see it as a shoulder patch?

You can review more information regarding this topic here

http://www.icethetics.info/blog/2012...star-logo.html

"In the video we see someone thumbing through a Blue Jackets logo portfolio. It appears to share a glimpse of elements of an unused third jersey design.... I would guess the logo we see there was probably an intended shoulder patch. Beneath it we can see the numbers and letters that are actually used on the current third jersey only in different colors. Bet it would've been a neat look."

I think that this color scheme would've been better than what was picked. Cool concept, but I don't think we'll see these used as part of the All-Star stuff. Maybe in the future for a another new incorporated logo design (possibly)... but I think the point of it here was giving the designers some ideas.

Would love to see this as a shoulder patch. The stripes at the bottom look like military stripes(which I'm sure they were going for) which fits into the whole military/civil war motif we got.

Sounds like a good time and place to have "fan protest 2". Bring the fire Priest & Howson signs!

Bad idea. And just my opinion, but it would be nice to keep the all-star and fire threads separate.

Time and place.

This is about the city of Columbus and the NHL, not the CBJ.

Bettman & company will be there so it will get national media attention. Sounds like a good time to let the whole country know we're sick of the buffoons ruining this franchise.
But that's just my opinion, for what it's worth...

I agree as well, but the ASG and anything related is off limits for organized public descent... (as SG said, the ASG is bigger than the Blue Jackets), there will be a second protest when the time is right, if there is still a need to do so.

Wonder if they would keep it separate in Philly? (I know, I know, this isn't Philly!)

I can't speak for Philly but it's the right thing to do in Columbus... be patient...

I wonder why anyone would care what Philly would do.

It's very simple. The ASG has nothing to do with Howson or Priest. Using this event to press this particular agenda is self serving and would have the potential to do more harm than good. Why take the risk? Just to get on TV?

Listen to Robert.

Time and place.

I swear to G-d Almighty if I see folks trying to organize a protest during the logo unveiling I will drive straight over there just to set the signs on fire. I am SICK. TO. DEATH. of this agenda-pushing personality-cult-driven idiocy.

Can we please, PLEASE have something nice happen for once this year without folks trying to spin it into more reasons for the rest of the fanbase to shake their heads, pick up their phones, and dial whine-one-one for the waahmbulance?

Thanks, Howson, for cleaning up MacLean's toxic waste. Welcome, Kekalainen; let's get good things built!

Calm down tiger... no one is going to derail the ASG..

My wish is to have you on our side to help the drive for a CBJ playoff winning organization. With you on board.... (I can't continue here).
