I'm surprised McConnell didn't get booed.

I would have preferred crossing cannons to hockey sticks, but simplicity is a good thing in logo design.

Yeah, never in a million years did anyone discuss protesting the unveiling of the All Star logo. But I'm sure some who want to push their agenda would like to believe otherwise.

There's no relation between the All Star Game and the team's on-ice and management problems. I'm happy the league had the sense to realize what great fans this city has and I would like to hope our owners might someday acknowledge that by giving us the sort of team those fans deserve.

Welcome to posts from a week ago.

Seems like everyone has an agenda these days. Usually it involves suggesting other people have agendas.

It's an ok logo, but awkward in some spots:
-The backwards Ohio flag looks strange when it doesn't serve the same purpose as it does on the team's logo (to form the "C" swoosh).
-The star and sticks at the bottom look smooshed.
I think they borrowed that font from the Destroyers. (edit: definitely is different than the Destroyers font, but that's the first thing I thought of when I saw it)
Overall not bad.

Next order of business: get some great bands lined up.

Yes this is what they were and I was able to get one. STH also got real pucks with the logo on them.

The logo is not bad and I like it, but I do think they could have been a little bit more creative.

I'm glad the bigger crowd turned out for the All-Star Game logo unveiling and the smaller one turned out for the protest. How bad would that be if it were the other way around?!?

You bite your tongue! The recent good news though, is that since Nickelback was hired to do the awards show, it lessens the likelihood that they will also be used for the ASG.

Why not just see if we can re-animate Ed Wood to handle the game broadcasts?

It would only be appropriate to have The Fratelli's involved somehow.

It's a "strategic promotional partnership"

http://www.mediapost.com/publication...ickelback.html

In all likelihood, they'll be here.

Still better than Linkin Park or Rascal Flatts. But not by much.

I lump Linkin Park in with Nickelback. 'Nu Metal' is the genre, I believe. Maybe I'm getting too old, but I just can't stand the yelling trying to be disguised as "singing".

I knew about their "strategic partnership", but if they are brought in for the ASG as well, it will be borderline "shove this crappy band down our throats". It seems like their songs are played leading into every damn tv timeout. At that point even Nickelback fans would have to be saying "Enough already!"

No problem...I'm sure there are about 10,000 people with the last name "Fratelli" in the Cleveland area alone.

Looks good. Cannons are not easy to put in a logo. Plus we won't be here after Dec 22, 2012 so its a moot point.

I like it. I hadn't noticed that the overall shape suggests a "C" for Columbus. I may have to buy something with that on it.
