Weber dominated that fight, Moen threw up a blind shot that happen to catch a much younger in just the right spot.
Buster Douglas beat Mike Tyson in Tyson's prime. Which was the better fighter?
Irrelevent. He got knocked out by Moen, who is much smaller and less strong than guys like Chara, Erskine, Carkner etc. He wouldn't hang with those guys.
I bleed Black and Gold, but I cannot see that Chara would measure up to someone like Carkner. He just isn't built to really, I mean really, throw down. He is huge, and strong, and has a large reach, and isn't scared, but I think he would be really tested against some of the others with similar stats, but are fighters. Chara isn't really a "fighter" per se so much that his attributes allow him to play that role when need be. Even Darth Quaider, I think, is a better "fighter" than Chara. I haven't seen Chara in a drag out knock down fight. Maybe that is because he lays waste to those that he throws with (mostly, not always) and maybe that is because he grabs and falls down other times. It is not his primary role, not every really his secondary role, so I don't think he could totally hang with a couple others mentioned here. But just because of his attributes and the fact that he can fight, makes him very dangerous in any dance.
That Scott dude is scary large. He made Engelland look like an amature when they fought.
I think the debate really comes down to Matt Carkner and Zdeno Chara. Carkner's role really allows him to do it more often, so I give him a slight edge.
Wait the guy who got beat up by Chris Stewart? Not in the league of the rest of these guys.
I said he can be a tough customer. Not once did I even consider him to be one of the best d-man fighters in the NHL.
Beat up by Chris Stewart? Hardly. That was a relatively even fight with Stewart starting off strong then Stoner coming back with a few punches of his own.
Neil is tough as nails. I don't want to say he's the toughest I've seen, but man, he can take a pounding and just keep on coming. Lucic beat the left side of his face in and Neil just didn't quit. In that fight, from a year or so ago I think, you can almost see the "WTF" expression on Lucic of like, "How many times do I have to hit this thing before he goes down?".... unreal.
Didn't Orr sit Carkner down (literally) three times in a row?

Weber now is much stronger than Weber as a rookie too. and nearly 20lbs bigger.

No, Orr sat him down, then carkner sat Orr down, then Orr sat Carkner down, followed by a couple of decesions to Orr and couple of draws, however we are talking about NHL players, or which Orr is no longer, try and keep up.
Chara I would say is the toughest, followed by Carkner, Erskine, Engelland.
I hate Chara being in this "best fighter" discussion when all he has is his reach and strength. I mean, I guess you have to take it into account but I really feel he should be in his own category for being such an alien in size and having such a lack of fighting skill in general.
