Carey Price's Contract

there is word out that price wants 10 years but montreal offered him 7 years at 7 mil I don't disagree with that he is for sure the heart and sole of montreal. but this is what I would offer him

10 years at 55 mil but he is the catch he would have bonuses

1 mil bonus to be nominated for the vezina.

1 mil bonus to win the Stanley Cup

so that way he will always want to pay hard and make more money what do you think?

1 10 mil 2.5 mil signing
2 10 mil 2.5 mil signing
3-9 4 mil
10 2 mil

thats what I would do what do you think?

DiPietro, Luongo andnBryz have probably ensured that no goalie ever gets a contract in the double digits again.

Six years, 39 million.

Performance bonuses that involve the entire team aren't something a player wants.

The chances of Montreal winning a cup are really low. He'll want all the money regardless of how he plays.

ELC's and 35+ can include performance bonuses.. Standard NHL contracts can't contain incentives.. The dollar amount should be the only incentive needed..

Uhh Price will be an RFA. There's no way I see him making near $10m.

Personally I hate super long contracts.....they are just dumb.

I would comfortable with something in the neighbourhood of 6-7 years between 6-7 million cap hit.

If Price wants 10 years then that is what the Habs should give him. That is why it is called negotiating. Like Parise, his next contract should be in the $100 million range.

Awards:
5 years, $5.45 million per year.

He'll likely ask for, and get, more.

Somewhere around 5M cap hit for 5-7 yrs...if he wasn't playing for the Habs this year, they would be 15 pts back, and hanging with the Blue Jackets...

I think (for a goalie)it would be smart to sign a long term deal at a very friendly cap hit. How many tens of millions does one need? If you give up a couple million a season on the cap hit, your probably going to lighten the pressure load ten fold. A guy like Price is probably going to make up the money on endorsements, anyways.

Parise 100M? Great player, but 100M seems out to lunch...no matter what team he ends up with...

What you just said isn't negotiating. What you said was giving into 10 years.

I'm not a big fan of long term contracts but in this case, I wouldn't mind a 7 to 9 year deal. IMO, he dosen't fetch as much as Rinne, but with the tax situation in the province of Québec, Montreal has no choice to slightly overpay.

More than 6M, less than 7M a year.

Endorsements? If there is one Hab that will get multi-million-dollar endorsements (like Patrick Kane) it's Subban. Who was the last goalie to get multi-million-dollar endorsements?

" He'll want all the money regardless of how he plays" thats the key words here.
Management are going to have to look long and hard at the years and the money per year.
Someone who doesn't have their head up in price's ass please tell me what the hell
price as done since he join the team to get the pay of an elite goaltender.
Look at his playoff record, look at this yrs record and all the soft goals in regulation time and ot/ so's.
Last year he had a good year, but couldn't get it done in the playoff's, couple of soft goals killed it.

There's 10 or 15 goalies in the nhl this year playing much better than price.
