Yep. Nail on the head.

If it is the Blues, here is a list of their prospects

General manager Steve Yzerman told reporters Thursday morning that a trade is not imminent, but Kubina will be scratched from the lineup for the time being.

Yzerman told reporters Thursday not to expect a solution in the next 11 days though. He called the deadline a "time to replenish [organizational] depth, so prospects, draft choices are [the] priority," according to Cristodero, and also said the goaltending quandary is "a likely summer project."

I'm hoping in the off-season, as an un-signed RFA, the asking price will be much lower similar to what the Habs got for Halak. At the very least, I'm assuming the Canucks will want to trade Schneider to the Eastern conference where they won't be constantly be haunted if he turns out to be the real deal. My proposal for Schneider would be 2011 TB 1st round pick (via PHI) and perhaps a mid to lower level prospect.

I don't see how Malone would net you Luke Schenn, you're more likely to get a less established young talent like Blum who's currently in the minors. A package for Suter would be too steep and SFY has repeatedly said we are not in a position to trade draft picks or prospects for rentals; the goal is to add those kind of pieces.

Out goaltending is not a quandary. We need a NHL starter

This. Bishop and maybe a mid round pick (3rd or 4th round in 2011) would be an excellent return imo for Kubina. Give the kid a chance to see if can solidify our constant goaltending dilemmas. Keep in mind, he did outperform Halak and Elliott in training camp and pre-season, but it's still not an accurate representation of how he would perform as an everyday starter.

I miis the days where Kubina made Jagr his *****. I miss the days that Kubina had some offense. He's been solid for the team and always did his best to help. Kinda nice to see him maybe get another shot at the playoffs and a ring.

Once he's gone though, who will y'all ***** about next?

There are too many options...where to start really? Bergeron, Roloson, only a matter of time before Purcell stops caring/trying again.

I wouldnt mind at all sending Kubina to STL for Bishop and giving Bishop the 17 games to see what hes got and to retain his RFA. BUT, considering I feel that Bishop could be signed for free in the offseason anyways, I would only be happy if we got at least a 2nd round pick back with him.

So Id be good and happy with Kubina for Bishop+2nd round pick. And really thats fair for both teams.

what would it take for TB to realistically send Kubina to Boston?

Is it replenishment if it's never been there?

SFY wants to plenish organizational depth.

I wouldn't mind Kubina for Bishop+. It gives us a chance to see how good he is, and it leaves open the possibility of trading Tokarski for Schneider.

The lowest I would go is Bishop and a 3rd. Bishop will be a UFA in the offseason baring a trade and STL has no negotiating power because he would be stupid to re-sign unless they moved one of Halak or Elliott which won't happen. I guess you could compare it to the Brewer trade. Brewer is the better player but there are far fewer defensemen available this year, Bishop is better than Beukeboom but his value is offset by his contract situation.

Offseason for goaltenders. If we're looking at STL... Ty Rattie, maybe?

Has Rattie fallen off that hard since he was drafted or are you implying TB parts with more than just Kubina?

and I wouldn't categorize goalies as purely a summertime event. It's like Bike Week, Toyotathon or a volcano, there's no way to predict when or where it will happen.

It's also summer in Australia.

Well if SY is targeting a goaltender, its not Bishop I can tell you that, at least not right now.

Jori Lehtera is very intriguing and seems to fit the type of guy SY likes.

Nicklas Grossman to Flyers for LA's 2nd and a 3rd.

He's worse than Kubina, younger but also a UFA in the offseason.

Just curious GBL, where do you get this info? You work for the team or something or beat writer like gobolt7?

This all seems like a bit harsh, considering the ties Kubina has to the team and how many years he's played in Tampa. Was there a falling out of sorts, or just Yzerman getting a ton of phone calls about him with teams willing to "overpay"?

I'm guessing it's the latter, considering the comments made so far.

People want Kuby, simple as that. Hes a righty with a big shot and slow, sure, but can still take the body, man the PP and be overall useful to someone.
