Best Contracts in the NHL?

Cheapest contract for the best player?

Claude Giroux has a great contract to be honest.

Well in Pts total/Salary ratio

David Desharnais has to be up there.

EDIT: Just saw what Giroux is getting ! What a steal !

First two high profile ones that popped into mind for me were Claude Giroux and Kris Letang.

Considering everything that is brought to the table, I firmly believe that Alex Burrows has the best contract in the NHL (assuming rookies are not counted).

No homer.

Edit: Damn you poster above me.

Burrows - $2M
Price - $2.5M
Letang - $3.5M
Giroux - $3.75M

Some of the best.

Edler at $3.25M is pretty darn good, too.

Bruins have tons of good deals that really add up... hard to believe none of their forwards earn more than $5M.

Desharnais at 800K on a non-entry deal is awesome.

Amongst more "established" players, Giroux and Burrows.

Giroux is getting that little because he hasn't been amazing and put up a lot of points until this year.
Just wait until his next contract....

Although Letang and Enstrom are a couple dmen who have great non-ELC contracts, the best one by a mile is Andrew MacDonald and people always forget about him.

4 yrs @ 0.55 M cap hit for a guy who was NYI's #1 dman, has played top pairing this year as well despite Streit being there (doesn't get PP time anymore though) and he's usually very consistent and solid on a bad team. This is his 3rd full NHL season and he's averaged ~20-24 minutes or more in each one now. He's in the 2nd year of his 0.55 M contract and before that, he got 0.483 M on his ELC.

I feel bad because he's a top pairing dman (and a 2nd pairing dman on teams that are better) but he doesn't even get a million, someone give this guy a bonus.

He got injured and played 60 games last season but scored 27 pts in 60, not bad.

Dan Girardi @ $3.30MM.

And the others that have been stated, especially Roo and Tang.

He put up 76 points last year, not playing on the first line.

He just has a terrible agent.

Also, i think he is still a RFA when his contract ends.

Curtis Glencross - 2.5 for 18 goals thus far (he's been out for a few games and will miss another month but was on pace for 30-35)
