that's because this topic is best contracts in the
NHL
if it was best contracts in the AHL then obviously Redden would be up there with the best

Getzlaf, Perry, and Ryan each 5.3 million. Not bad despite their slumps this year. But I give my "rest of the NHL" vote to Giroux. Teams would quickly pay 7.5+ for him if he was a UFA and FA started today. Don't know why it would. But whatever.

Total 48.75, Not bad for a team that's less than a million over the cap floor.
That's actually a pretty damn good team.

the whole Blues` team is a steal! the only "bad" contract is McDonalds one but just because he is injured. if he`s healthy, he`s worth every cent of it
just look at:
Shattenkirk at 1,3
Elliott at 0,6
Pietrangelo at 3,2
Oshie at 2,35

Gomez for sure! Without his contract, half the jokes on this site wouldn't exist.

The freaking Sedins had to sign those contract extensions right before they became 100 point scorers.

After Elliot, David Desharnais is probably the biggest steal this season.
850k (this year and next one as well) for 35 pts in 49 games... on pace for 59 pts.

Time for a bump I think.
How are things looking a year later?
Apologies if I missed a more recent thread.

From the Rangers the best contracts are Girardi, $3.325M and Del Zotto's new contract, $2.55M. Excluding of course McDonaugh's ELC.

If Matt Duchene and PA Paranteau continue playing the way they are right now, they're contracts are pretty damn good. Duchenes especially.

This could be a homer vote, but I'd guess the best one would be....
Andrew MacDonald, NYI - $550,000.
Not bad for a guy averaging over 27 minutes of icetime on a 1st pairing.

Sure, except Salo doesn't play for Vancouver. Seriously?

Tavares at 5.5 mil per for the next 6 years. That's chump change for a franchise player

Smid-Petry is Edmonton's top pairing and make a combined $4M. Say what you will about Edmonton's defense, those two are not the problem.
