I really don't get all the hate from the Ottawa fanbase, in a way it is flattering. Wow they really have a hate on us.

Ottawa is pretty classless when it comes to the Leafs. The game show when Toronto is in town consists of the PR guys and girls wiping their butts with Leaf jerseys etc.

There were incidents where radio hosts went overboard during their last playoff series with the Leafs and were fired as a result.

Really what it says to me -- if you spend this much time worrying about someone else -- you have an inferiority complex.

Just adding fuel to the fire for when we play them in the playoffs this year

Don't really care much for the hate.

In fact I laugh at it because we are the Hockey Mecca and they aren't.

Pretty funny actually. However their fans seem to care more about us than they do their own team.

I don't understand your comment. We only have to play against other teams that finish in the top 8 in the conference.

I laughed at what NESN said

As one of the most storied and heated rivalries in NHL history, the Ottawa Senators and Toronto Maple Leafs
Yea......not exactly how I would describe it.

So essentially, what this article is saying is that there is finally something not terrible in Ottawa now?

Well then, may the cut-out faces of Kessel and Phaneuf grace the city of Ottawa for as long as they can. Lord knows the fine citizens of Ottawa needed a redeeming quality such as this for a long time now.

If you go to a Sens game and the Leafs are playing out of town they do not put up the score of the Leafs game unless they are losing.

I was at game earlier this year and the Leafs got out to a an early lead but only when the Leafs coughed up the lead did the Sens put the score on the JumboTron.

Every other game was up on the scoreboard all night except for the Leafs game.

Just too funny

They handed out thousands of those 'heads on sticks' all weekend. If you think that you guys wouldnt have done the exact same thing at an ASG in Toronto you're supreme trolls.

My spring-roll would have shriveled back inside me if I had to go to the washroom with Kessel looking at my wee-wee...

If the Leafs beat my team in the playoffs 4 times in 5 years, I'd be angry at them too.

I think they hate us more, than they like the Sens, as well.

I guess you can't really hold it against them for finding the only scenario in which it'd be remotely socially acceptable to pee on a cardboard cutout of somebody's face. I'd rather them act out their bizarre fetishes this way than ravage our inner cities like some remorseless army of R. Kellies.

There are good Sens fans out there, I'm good friends with a couple guys here who are bigtime sens fans and while we do sometimes get a bit heated (especially during the games) for the most part we keep it respectful and try our best to discuss things in a more neutral way.

However, there are for sure a large portion of sens fans that actually do care more about the Leafs than their own team.

If it makes anybody feel better, my buddies that are sens fans hate those guys. They call them "leafs suck" fans as differentiated from sens fans. They find them an embarrassment and hate the fact that it makes it seem as if all sens fans have this inferiority complex.

It's kind of like how a few idiot leafs fans make us look bad.

Of course you hardly hear from the reasonable fans (from either side) and it makes it look like the proportion of idiot fans is a lot higher than it is. Idiots are louder, that's just how it is....try not to colour an entire group by the actions of it's idiots.

So Sens fans are stroking themselves over Kessel, Lupul and Phaneuf? Nice.

I was there, and perhaps both NESN and Sens fans would be interested to know what I did with my Alfie and Thomas cutouts.

Here's a hint, I set them on fire.
