What do you guys think, Reardon with Howe or Babe?
Leaning towards Babe.
No doubt in my mind Kenny Reardon with Babe Siebert. Reardon is quite a steal (IMO) at where you took him in term of offensive abilities from the blueline. However, he's not the greatest of skater and his defensive abilities are quite sub-par in this draft. Babe Siebert was a fantastic defensive defenceman. They should mesh really well.
What about Mark Howe with the Babe? Don't like Reardon and Howe together - Howe needs a stay at home partner while he rushes and Reardon is too reckless.

Thanks for the input, confirmed what I was thinking.

Yeah...I think Howe / Siebert is the better idea, by far. It is easy to find a solid #4 defensive defenseman to pair with Reardon, but if you don't pair Siebert with Howe, who are you going to find that you want to put out there against opposing top lines? Howe should get the top icetime on the team at even strength, as he was an outstanding even strength player. He needs a credible partner.

Yep, that's the better option IMO. It makes a lot of sense.

Frankly, I can't remember my initial reasoning for splitting up Howe and Siebert. I think it was because I initally meant to pick a partner for Howe with 164, but Reardon seemed like too good of value to pass. You guys are right, I'll stack the top pairing.
Although at this point finding two linemates for Howe + building a defence and taking a goaltender will be very difficult.
I've got 3 picks in the next 20, and I'll probably end up taking Howe's linemate(s) and a defenseman to pair with Salming. I'm going to deviate from what I'd done before and not pick a goalie for awhile.

Fair enough! We're not that lucky to have 3 picks in the next 20 as you have

There is still plenty of offensive talent you can take in the next 20 picks to build around Howe.
Yeah thats where I'm leaning. They both have serious ''cover for'' ability if I go with two offensive-oriented dmen next.
You probably want one of them with a good defensive two-way d-man so you have a pair to play against top forwards. But yeah. Both are excellent defensively.
Should I keep the MacInnis- Laperriere pairing or put Herb Gardiner- MacInnis and have Laperierre anchor the 2nd pairing??
You got fairly well-rounded defensemen there; personally I'd say stack the top pairing since you won't really find a quality top-pairing guy at this point, but we're just get into second-pairing guys.
