Is Liles ready to return to the line-up?

Has anyone heard if Liles is ready to get back in the line-up?

I was listening to an interview on the Fan 590 before the break and Liles said he was gearing up to return before the All Star break, but RW told him to rest until after the break.

The PP survived without Liles but thrived with him.
Hoping he is availible.

Him and Army were slated to return post all-star. We will find out tomorrow when the Leaf's will have to make roster moves to fit them into the lineup.

I would agree, but IMO he has been playing fairly well this season. No D-man really deserves to sit.

Agreed man, there is no way Gardiner should sit.

One would think a trade is coming.

Aulie gets sent down to the AHL for sure.

then you have quite a decision.

Dion
Gunnar
Franson
Gardiner
Komi
Schenn

Liles

Schenn without question has made the most mistakes and given up the most scoring chances in the last couple of months. Theres times he goes out of position to make a hit and misses both his man and the puck and gives up a primo scoring chance, with our entire team in the defensive zone. If we are playing a playoff series TODAY you have to take Schenn out for Liles if your goal is to win and not develop a 22 year old physical dman.

Sit Schenn for a few games to let him regain himself. Then sub him in for Komisarek for a few games until a trade is made. Besides this, there really isn't much the Leafs can do outside of sending Gardiner back to the Marlies along with Aulie.

I watched Ron Wilson: At the Half and he said it looks like Liles will be back after the break.

I know you only listed D-men but you should throw in Army's stats this season just for the lolz. Guy can't catch a break

On topic though, I hope he's able to play tomorrow but if not, I hope he's back by the weekend.

Ehh Komi may not deserve to sit but Imo he's still been the least consistent and most mistake-prone of our D-men (besides aulie).

And if you sit Schenn does that lower other teams perception of him if in fact Burke is looking to move Schenn to bolster the forwards?

I don't want it to be Gardiner, but RW will probably sit him and justify it by saying they play similar games.

Prior to the All Star break, Paul Hendrick tweeted this to me when I asked him about JM Liles' status.

"HennyTweets : @MattPedias not back untill after the all star game...hopefully next tuesday."

Why would Wilson's choice be not putting him back if he is ready?

Depends who we play against.

Fast teams: Gardiner

Heavy, hard hitting mob teams: Komocop

Although: Ron has already played Komo against some fast teams this season (at the same time benching Gardiner. But more often in these types of situations: Komo against hard and heave - Gardiner against Speed and steady
