Miller's chase of Hasek's Franchise Wins Record (tied; needs one to surpass)

Thought we'd keep track of this, no? Some sort of positive?

Quote:
Miller needs just one more win to tie Dominik Hasek’s franchise record of 234 in his 491 games with the Sabres.
Etched into team history no doubt, like it or not.

I thought we'd celebrate this in early December.

Same. And I truly thought it would be a celebration amid a normal, solid season that lived up to expectations.

His detractors aren't going to like it, but I fully expect that, at the very least, the guy will ultimately be in the Sabres' HOF.

I honestly didn't want to touch it in the midst of the ****storm of a season we're having, but it makes for a legitimate debate, assuming his time here is coming to a close. If he stays, it's an obvious no-brainer...

Actually.... I don't know if it'd be debatable even if he were dealt at the deadline. He'd be the franchise's winningest goaltender......

 A real knock on a goaltender that he's not in the same class as arguably the greatest goaltender who's ever played.

Hasek also had 234 in 491...Miller's at 429 now, I believe. He'll get to it faster.

Yes, we know Hasek played on weaker teams. But this is a major accomplishment for a goalie that catches a ton of criticism way too often.

I know there are a lot of Miller lovers out there, but as long as they don't say miller is the greatest goalie we ever had

I have never heard one person say that Miller is the best goaltender in the organization's history. Not one. Ever.

Who the **** could say that at this point, having had Hasek as a part of our organization?

Hasek is in a class of his own. Nobody would try to equate the two of them.

Let's go Miller.

Whether you love him or hate him, whether you think it's a team statistic or not, it's an accomplishment that deserves recognition.

Keep in mind that Miller has a good chunk of shootout wins, something Hasek didn't have a chance at while with the Sabres.

Just went and looked, Hasek had 70 ties as a Sabre. I'd guess a fair amount of those would be wins if they had shootouts.

Miller actually said something to this effect when asked about it postgame.
