I think Wilson finally has a hold of the team. He's really showing that he deserved to be extended mid-season. I expect only greater things to come.

What was our percentage in December? Something like 60%. Our pk has gotten 40% better in one month. That is ludicrous.

I will lose it if this turns out to be a jinx thread. Ron Wilson for Jack Adams!

Assuming Columbus holds steady at 76.2%, the Leafs would have to kill off their next 9 penalties to catch them for 29th.

Leafs allowed 19 powerplay goals on 52 shorthanded situations, for a 63.5% kill rate in December. They took an average of 4 penalties per game.

Big part of our success in January? Only 16 penalties taken. That averages out to 1.5 penalties per game.

The real key to keeping the streak alive is not to take any penalties at all against Pittsburgh.

Another big reason has been the play of Gustavsson. Nice combination of things has lead to this. Hope they can keep the good PK work up.

Tit for tat.

Leafs take less penalties = Less difficult workload for Gustavsson.
Gustavsson plays well = Leafs can play less frantic and be more disciplined.

Miller will dance around it all night, then in the 3rd period on a PK youll hear I DIDNT WANT TO MENTION IT EARLIER BUT THE LEAFS ARE TRYING TO SET A RECORD BY GOING A MON- *Malkin scores*

A 30th place PK setting the record would be something else. One more game!

Thank god we got rid of Wilson and all the coaches plaguing our power play.

Sorry what? We gave Wilson an extension and have all the same special teams coaches?!

But players aren't responsible for their play on the ice! Fire Wilson!!!!!

Leafs are on another relevant streak as well, not being on the PK for 127:43 minutes straight of game time.
