I love Moen, and wouldn't mind if we resigned him, but he can easily be replaced on the open market, so if you can get a decent offer, example 2nd round pick. July 1st you give someone like Prust 1.5M. Prust,2nd round pick>Moen type thing.

have to imagine that the "market" for Moen is going to be red hot as we get closer to the deadline.

I really think a 1st isn't out of the question...

he's basically exactly the type of player every team with cup ambitions wants to add down the stretch

- great work ethic/attitude
- tough, prototypical "canadian" player
- cup winning experience

I imagine that just about every team that fancies themselves as a contender will take a long look at him and submit an offer.

Definitely not a first, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was a 2nd and a decent prospect.

Gill will also get some love from other contenders...

I can't see a team giving up a 1st for him. A 2nd is very possible and maybe a mid level prospect to go with it. A SJ or Van 2nd would be very late so I'd ask for a 2nd in 2012 and a 3rd/4th in 2013 maybe.

Habs got number one ranked penalty kill in NHL...Moen is a big part of that.

Moen has 111 mins of Pk ice time so far this year.
I hope they keep Moen......i really do .

I don't mind moving him as long as we can get him back next summer.

The only guy that could fetch us a 1st IMO is Kostitsyn if the Habs decide to move him. Moen, I'm hoping it's a 2nd

To Vancouver: Travis Moen + Hal Gill
To Montreal: Alexandre Grenier + 2nd round draft pick in 2012

Alexandre Grenier is a 6'5" RW from the Q! I would love him on the 3rd line with Leblanc in the future.

A 1st ? No way !

A 2nd ? Maybe

A good young minor league player or decent junior prospect ? Possibly.

If he won't resign yes, by the deadline trade him.

If he is willing , you keep the guy, big part of Ellers game and the PK .

I;d like to see him back on a 3 yr deal.

I disagree with this. I don't think it's that easy to replace Moen on the open market. These kind of players are in high demand. I wouldn't want to trade Moen unless it's at least a 2nd rounder. Unless of course he's not planning on restaying in MTL.

Darche
Moen
Gill

These are the 3 PK magicians on the roster and, wouldn't you look at it, they could all be sold.

I'd prefer Rome or Alberts or even Yann Sauvé

Grenier is too much like Pouliot. Not a big fan of his, would prefer a 1st and 4th rounder.

You will never get a 1st round draft pick for anyone for Moen and/or Gill, remember, Gill was traded for a 7th round draft pick from Toronto to Pittsburgh and Moen is young but this is a contract year and he is playing above average.

If we get a prospect and 2nd round pick for both, I am happy.

WE NEED TO RE-BUILD THIS TEAM.

That's my point. Rather not move him unless overpayment. He's not as replaceable as people claim IMO.
