Logan Couture is #2 on this list, followed closely by Jaimie Benn.
As good as Patches has been, I don't think you can put him above a Couture, Benn, or even a JVR (Who can play like a dominant force at times). Look for Patches to eak at about #5 on this list (I still think Perron is better when healthy, but that may play a part in determinig who's better

Call me crazy, but I'd even take Benn ahead of Kane as of right now.
Its pretty crazy to think that maxpac has 35 points in 46 games considering the massive slump he went through after his suspension. Those are decent stats at the end of the day.
That and the fact that this team struggles offensively at times. It just goes to show how good guys like Cole, DD and Patches are. Obviously I feel DD is benefiting a lot from playing with these guys but he's still be solid on his own too. Has shown flashes of St. Louis and as a guy who never made that comparison, it's a big compliment. DD looks to be a steal. But hey, lets fire Trevor Timmins for all his great work
I honestly don't know where to rank Pacioretty or Subban. Those who rank Subban as #2, 3, 4, or 5 are way too gung ho, too much homies with blinders on.
Subban is higher than Pac, Subban has a shot at top 3.
Kane being obvious first (88 points hello?) and benn being the runner up, for the others i think that Couture and Pac are at the same level.
If Pac did'nt get that suspension and that slump he would be just under a PPG imo (70Ish season). Now JVR Mcdonagh Perron and others round up the top 10...
We had 4 great picks in this draft. I think we are the team that got the much out of this draft.(4th one being Weber, i know you all think he ''sucks'' but hey, he got drafted pretty far and is still playing in the NHL and is a PP go to go when healthy(In the head*))
2 top 4 defenseman and a top 6 powerforward in one draft, feel bad for Timmins when he sees studs he drafted like McDonagh getting traded for overpaid plugs like Gomez.
Really? Dealing McDonagh is worse than trading Patrick Roy in 1995?
In terms of impact on our club? No.
Problem with this trade though is that it just came out of the blue and we did it for absolutely no reason. At least with Roy we were being pushed into making a deal. This one just came out of nowhere and we needlessly paid a premium for a guy who the Rangers couldn't wait to get rid of. Then Gomez comes here and plays even worse. That's what made this deal so terrible.

I'll echo what most already said : good list but McD should climb numerous spots.
I'd also bump off Voracek or Simmonds to make room for Shattenkirk : guy plays 20+ mins on one of the best defensive team in the league
BTW, don't be surprised if Kyle Turris rapidly climbs this list. He was projected as having legit number one center potential and we're just starting to see that in Ottawa.
Pacioretty is now 8th in the league with 17 ES goals.
Amazing stat isn't it? He is doing this in his first full season in the league. He is also playing with a centre also in his second full season in the league. Imagine if we had anything resembling a decent Power play!
I hope my reiteration isn't tiresome to other board members, but my remaining hair stands straight up when I read how highly they rate PK Subban. Why, I want to know, is he so great. Do his fanboys look around or are they fixated on what they see at the Bell Centre while closing their eyes to things they don't want to see or admit to themselves? I'm not saying this kid isn't uncommonly talented, but PLEASE!
As for Pacioretty, was hoping that the Habs would be able to draft him, and this time I wasn't disappointed. He's a legitimate first line forward.
Someone went overboard and pronounced the Gomez trade the darkest day in the Hab's history, which was rebutted by someone who brought up l'affaire Patrick Roy. Well, there;s an important difference. Everyone was despondent when Roy was traded but most fans were thrilled when they heard that Gomez was coming to Montréal. I wasn't. I didn't think that highly of Gomez and I didn't care for the shabby way in which Gainey gave the cold shoulder to Koivu.
