Jason Garrison

The leading goal scorer amongst Defensemen this season is going to be a UFA this summer.

With the signing of Gleason today the value of defensemen is rising and also leads to a supply shortage for defensemen at the deadline.

The panthers have several quality defense prospects (Robak who could replace Garrison immediately and Petrovic down the road).

Would it be better for the panthers to resign him or try trading him at the deadline?

The panthers are looking for offensive help and I would like to hear the value that Garrison would warrant should he be traded at the deadline.

I'd love this guy on the Canucks. I'd be fine giving up Anton Rodin + a conditional pick if he resigns. How far off am I?

I dont see a reason florida would move him considering we are in the race for the playoffs and the division, we just lost defensemen for the next month and our GM has stated he wants to resign him.

But, I would want equal to a 1st rounder for him at least if we did or package him for a top 6 forward. He is young, very good defensively (last year one of the best pairings in the nhl) and has a killer shot for the power play.

I dont see us moving him though at all.

I would love to swap Garrison for Kurtis Foster -- two big-shot dmen for the PP. The Foster experiment in New Jersey has been a bit defective, but I wonder if he could thrive in Florida.

Garrison for Foster, WSH 2012 2nd?

Garrison's shot from the point on the Rangers PP would be nice.

Christian Thomas and a 3rd rounder.

I think it's a fair trade. Really comes down to if we can sign up, would like to see Tallon negotiate and give them a final offer before the trade deadline, if they don't agree and he has peaked too much, something like this could be fair.
