Good, keep MPS down there. This should have been the recall last time.

Awesome news. This should boost the kid's morale to a whole new level.

Nelson is doing a great job down there.

I'm not sure how much of a factor he'll be, but I'm glad he's getting rewarded for what's been a pretty great AHL season so far with his first taste of the NHL. I wonder if this means they're keeping Paajarvi down a little longer, or if he's also among today's recalls.

After reading Gregor's latest blog Nelson was really talking quite highly of Cornet and said he deserved a shot.

Zero expectations for Cornet, but he should be absolutely rewarded for his hard work and strong play. Very excited for him!

Great call-up! I am really happy for him, he definitely earned this.

Please please please surprise us Cornet! If he is able to translate his game, at least a bit, he could become a very useful piece in our currently f***ed up roster puzzle...

This is another guy Smytty could take under his wing. Plays the same type of style apparently.

Could the Oilers please actually put one of these call ups in an offensive role??? Please!

Hall-Horcoff-Hemsky
Cornet-Gagner-Eberle
Smyth-Belanger-Jones
Eager-Lander-Hordichuk

I doubt we see these combos. Is someone out with the flu or something?

Yup, Magnus needs some time down there at all costs.

Bold prediction

Cornet scores a goal on 1 shot

Bloggers write about how he cannot keep up that unsustainable shooting percentage

Just for the sake of conversation, where is he playing this year? Not in OKC or Stockton as far as I can tell. Europe?

Good for him. There was just a discussion about him and how much his skating has improved this season. Also, how he's improved his decision making and always gets himself into a good scoring position

I agree. I'm sure getting the call validates to Cornet the effort he's been putting into his game can and will pay off.

I remember seeing Cornet at the top prospects game in Edmonton when they hosted that class(Doughty, Stamkos).

He honestly looked like a pretty cocky guy to me out there but overall looked decent in that game. Glad he has continued to progress and gets a taste of the NHL.

And really teams shouldn't play favorites just because of draft position. If he's one of their top guys give him the call. It will show him what he has to work on to make it to the next step. He may or may not be able to do that, but you should always reward hard work and improvement.

I am happy for Coronet. All you hear about him are flaws, but then he produces great in the QMHL. Then you hear flaws about his first season in the AHL, and then this year he is an All-star and scoring like a madman.

Hhe deserves a cup of coffee for his season and the effort he has put in. Hopefully this motivates him to work even harder.

I'll one up you. Datsyuk was a 5th round pick as well. Cornet will be as successful as Datsyuk in a couple years.

Good for him. It's nice to see someone go from suspect to prospect in this organization, instead of the other way around. Hopefully he and Eberle find some chemistry that they've had before.

And to further that... If Cornet does not match or exceed Datsyuk's production during his call up. Bloggers will label him as a bust.

It would really be nice if Cornet could translate his AHL success into the NHL. This is a great shot for him to break in and establish himself in a role, bottom 6 or top 6.

He certainly has some okay size and junior offence so maybe the light has gone on for him after a rough first pro year. I am actually looking forwrard to seeing if maybe we luck out and he could be a gritty 2nd liner....
