You're making a lot of sense...

The other half focuses on speed and a quick tempo game, and DL has built us to play the opposite, from the bench out. I wonder why he doesn't mold the team like Philly if he likes Philly players so much.
You build out from the net, out through D, and up through Centers. You build a culture of "hard to play" defensive structure "D-First" team. Then you add the up tempo, puck attack style to that structure. This is where we are now. We're just adding that to the mix. It's a tough transition. And it cost Murray his job. Sutter is getting it done.

Now it's up to the players.

I think we'll wind up with Carter. There probably aren't many teams showing interest, I figure Dean will be one of the GM's who are.

Sorry, don't buy this. The Flyers make radical changes and can just turn it around in one season. I don't expect a tyransformation in one season the way Philly does, but this is the sixth season under DL and we have to grind out 3-2 wins over Columbus and leave with this mini-sense of euphoria that our offense managed to actual reach three goals in a game against the worst team and worst defense in the league. And they only did that because of a last second goal and possible game clock shenanigans.

Our offensive woes aren't strictly the system, but it is a part of it. I'm glad we traded Murray out for Suteer, he is an upgrade, but DL plays most things to safe for us to ever be as good as the Flyers are on an annual basis.
