Sounds like the extension part is 100 over 6 (plus 24 for the option). That strikes me as quite team friendly. Awesome.
Well he said he was open to a home town discount in return for the security of knowing he wasn't going to be traded. Good on both sides for working it out if indeed they actually work it out...
Anybody else read the post article about the first day of BP. Apparently Strasburg and Gio were basically invincible. Nice little part about Gio's curveball breaking fast and late like a slider but with much much more break to it. Damn excited I must say for this rotation. If Jackson can only have a bit more consistency than last year it would be hard to not name it in the top few rotations of the league.

A lot of Gio's success was playing in Oakland with those monstrous amounts of foul territory, his numbers home and away were fairly different. But I think moving to the NL and its weaker lineups will help offset moving out of the Coliseum.
I like the rotation. I follow the W-Sox and Jackson finished last year pitching a lot better than he did early on or the season before. I'd probably keep Lannan in the rotation and move Wang/Detweiler to the pen.
I wish they had more hitting though. The pitching will keep them competitive but I don't know if they're a playoff team yet. That lineup needs another bat or two.

Wang is pretty much a no-go in the pen. Apparently his warmup routine takes too long.
