I'm confused by why Hank wasn't in goal tonight especially when we play Sabres tomorrow night...

Well you're assuming they would lose every game that would have went to a shootout.

The 'Peg beat the Flyers in a SO, I guess that cancels out our shootout loss. Not so bad. Now we just need the Laughs to beat the Pens

Should have won this one...but when you don't score on the pp you are walking a fine line.

Debbies have nothing to celebrate about.... I mean if luck is needed to beat Biron, you're not a good team.

So he can win the easier game. Wait until after tomorrow's game to see if it was the right move.

We essentially won that game. If it was a playoff game, we'd win. It's annoying, but at least the point isn't going to make or break us.

Signing? Not a great one thus far.

That said, I knew we would lose this as soon as it went to a SO.
I'm prepared to start *****ing about Richards.

Wake up guy. You're the highest paid player in the NHL, yet you look like a slug.

Looks like another cash it in type contract for us. Not as bad as the others, though, because the team is doing well (partly because of what Richards brings off the ice).

I was upset....

Then I remembered that aside from this season, the Rangers are one of the unluckiest franchises around, and I felt better, in an odd way.

They played pretty well, and I'm sure they'll come out flying tomorrow. Biron had a nice game, the Rangers are pathetic in the shootout though, oh my god.

Devils have what, 10 shootout wins now?

18-19-1 with 11 ties is New Jersey's pre-lockout record.

That being the case, the Rangers allowed New Jersey to hang around in this game and it cost them a point. Unfortunate but still in 1st place.

Marty Biron is terrible in shootouts.

3 STARS:

1. Ryan McDonagh (Saved like 5 goals)
2. Marian Gaborik (Despite his attempt in the SO being stopped, he played really well)
3. Carl Hagelin (Jagr-esque puck protection and bailed us out on a few icings with his speed)

The Good: Gaborik's Playmaking, Hagelin's hustle, McDonagh playing like a #1 defender.

The Bad: Brad Richards lack of production, the shootout and Biron's soft goals.

The Redden: Callahan's play which led to the 2nd Devils goal. Inexcusable effort/play. Oh yeah and the Clarkson bounce.

Horrible bounce but Biron's 5 hole was just wide open on Kovalchuck's goal. **** the Rock.

Let's be fair though. Under Renney we WERE the SHOOTOUT TEAM of the NHL. We have made playoff pushes ourselves by racking up the shootout points.

LAST SEASON we were the shootout team of the NHL. Can't fault the Devils for finding points where they can when we have made a habit of it in the past.

It's our own fault that our roster mostly consists of grinders rendering us virtually ineffective in the shootout.

It's worth keeping Christensen and Wolski dressed, to play fourth line minutes (which we only allocate 5-7 minutes anyhow) for their expertise in the shootout. I hate losing in the shootout because these are lost points that can make a big difference at the 82 game mark.

Tough break. Whatever, move on.

But speaking of moving on, theres some real deep-seeded issues with this team that need to be fixed pronto.

For starters, Artem Anisimov has been a black hole on any line hes played on for the better part of 2 months. He needs to wake up. Honorable mention for this award goes to Brad Richards.

Stu Bickel needs to go.

And finally, PLEASE do something about the powerplay. Its disgusting to watch.

Oh okay that makes sense. I would definitely rather have ties too but after a ten minute OT.
