BTW, Sam Rosen once again pulled through with the Rangers jinx. He was saying how the Rangers haven't let up a PP goal in the last however many games and how great they've been. Of course the Devils score on the PP.

Why are ties (in the regular season) so awful? I don't see how they're any worse than having to watch the absurdity of the shootout. Like someone else said, you see MLB tie games ending with a homerun derby, or NBA games ending with a 3 point competition.

The shootout is really nothing more than a forced attempt at creating manufactured excitement.

Hey guys, when the puck hits the boards, it is lucky if it bounced in your favor like that. But..... If it hits a stanchion, there is no luck involved at all and the beneficiary scores a goal fair and square.

To a Devils fan, that somehow makes sense.

He's been saying that for the past few games.

Good: Stralman, MCD
Bad: callahan's lazy ass turnover, Bickel shying away from all 5-11ft of Parise
Redden: the ****ing clarkson goal off that stupid bounce, the Powerplay, the Shootout where you can't score on the Flopper.
The Bruins got a lucky win too. Did you see that fluke goal from center ice?
Brodeur got the luckiest win of his life, he played like **** except for that sequence at the end of the first. Rangers are horrible in the Shootout.
Clarkson was gift-wrapped a goal.
I don't ever want to hear the Debbies fans saying the Rangers are lucky.

I understand where you're coming from here, but to me they should just eliminate points altogether and just have wins and losses. To me you can't have differing values on OT/shootout decisions as long as OT and shootout are part of the game, which like it or not they are.

Let's all take a deep breath and exale, relax and calm down.

Now that we've done that, let's get someone who can shoot lasers from the point on the PP, which will either hit the net or hit Richards in the head to waken him up. I can't stand watching that pathetic PP any longer.

there is nothing to like about a tie. complete waste of time. yea those sports dont have skills compettitions to break scores, but you know what else they don't have... ties. a tie is like a monday. completly ******.

Yup, eliminate ties and go by W/L. Every other sport does it, why does the NHL need a point system?

Folks...we have won these games most of the year...even with all the misplays and sloppiness...we got burnt by the glass, boards, stanchions...whatever. It happens...

No, I most definitely remember.

Richards is on pace for 6 more assists then Redden in his first year as a Ranger.

Redden also played solid defense and logged decent minutes.

Richards is a liability and flat out sucks every time he's on the ice.

Why do people keep calling it a fluke? A fluke is when something lucky happens. They do this **** on purpose.

He then stopped Parise and Elias. I'm sure Kovalchuk has made many goalies look foolish during shootouts. What's more "disgusting" to me is that none of the 3 Rangers could score on old man Brodeur.

i hate games like this because it slipped right our of our hands.
it wasn't their best effort but it was good enough to beat NJ.
the MDZ goal was crushing, don't know why we couldn't hold a lead
for a couple of minutes. Biron gives up some soft goals, but we shouldn't always have to look to hank to save us.

BRich better pick his game up. what's going on with this guy?
And Dubinsky has lost all offensive confidence.

The PP hasn't won a game for us in so long we should just decline it from now on.

Shootout is such a ****ing joke.

I really wish the new CBA has 10 min. OTs or just a full period of it. Just hate it. Always have, always will.

None of the goals that Biron gave up were soft. Could have have played the first one better? Yes, but either way that shot was dirty. Then with the 2nd and 3rd goals I'm not sure what more you wanted him to do.

And to put this to bed...

If the Powerplay works...we win...

If Artie doesn't take that OBNXIOUSLY terrible penalty...better chance of winning...

This, if the same thing happened, except in our favor, we would be jumping for joy too. ****ing losing sucks, especially against the Devils. But lets not go embarrassing ourselves over one loss, no matter how unlucky it was.

he didn't stop elias. there was no difference between an empty net goal and the goal by kovalchuk in the shootout. it was terrible. there should be no debate

Reminds me of my favorite Gary Cohen moment. In April of 2010, K-Rod came in for a save against the Nationals and there was a man on base so Gary goes "K-Rod hasn't allowed a run in his last ten innings pitched." The next pitch went about 500 feet.

Cohen and Sam may be the king of jinxes.
