Well, I don't want to seem like a dick, but I'm actually happy we lost. Is that wrong to say? Tank Nation is in FULL swing.
same here
Just because I know what will happen. If we win a few games in a row, PG will trade our future for present help to try to make the playoffs. If we lose, then he'll have no choice than to go for next year.
Let's face it, we don't have a good team. Let's wait for next year and HOPE Markov will be ready by then.

I agree its about a realistic assessment of this team:
1. Lack a top end centre atm who can create space especially in the POs where the top end D will be bigger and more tight defensively.
2. Lack secondary scoring because Pleks line isn't generating much and Eller's line occasionally generates but are playing the other teams top lines most of the time
3. No number one dman or number two for that matter because Sub is struggling and Kaberle isn't eating huge minutes other than that no one really has the skillset to be a top 2 ATM
4. PP not clicking and having trouble on even strength
Therefore one deep draft with a top 5 pick, several 2nd/3rd round picks and possibly moving one big contract this offseason will help us retool plus adding a top end dman at deadline time or getting markov back plus the injection of youth will make this team better NEXT YEAR
Totally agree. He should be traded while we can get something decent for him.
Please post something in the "centre discussion" thread for me for those blind people who keep arguing with me that Pleks is a number one centre in the league! I'm starting to tire of arguing with them.
Not personally in favour of trading Plekanic unless it's part of a package to obtain someone who is a significant upgrade on him. Problem with that is that any such player would require an overpayment on what would be 'fair value' so the other parts we would have to add would likely be unpalatable.
Plekanic is a number one centre in the league if you take the position that there are 30 teams therefore there must be 30 'number one centres'. What he isn't is a number one centre on a team that wins the cup. He's exactly the type of player that could be second line centre on a team that wins the cup. Arguments about whether he's a number one centre or not tend to therefore tend to be semantic differences between the above statements.
Who is he supposed to pass it to? Gomez can't shoot, he only has 1 legitimate option and Bourque isn't always in position. All of the people *****ing about Pleks should take a step back and realize that for 2 seasons we've watched players disappear as soon as they were on a line with Gomez. Do you think that's going to change just because he's on the wing?
Detroit win = we have a chance, we are pretty darn good !
Buffalo loss = we are losers trade everyone, tank.
Detroit = Chez Pare the night before and didn't give a flying you know what against us. As much as I wanna see playoffs, this team is so messed up right now we need to get a future star(center) and take it from there

Definitely can't rely on Pleks or DD being our number 1. And i have had just about enough of Pleks for a lifetime.
I guess we don't have to go back to 08/09 to see who wanted to dump Plekanec for nothing. He's not playing well at the moment but he's not someone you throw away unless you want to be one of those people who want someone gone then complain how well they are doing when on another team. 'Gui Gui Gui', Ribeiro, Grabovski, S. Kostitsyn. They all had their 'get rid of him!!' people.
Basically, he said that Gill was a Pylon; especially on Sabres's second goal where he couldn't lift Gaustad's stick...
Bergie did go a little to far but in the same breath, he was right. I believe they this part was a result of Gill's inability to lift Gaustad's stick.
He also referring to block shots, saying here in Montreal, it has become more important then the guy on the PP or scoring goals.
