OT: EHM Freeware League

Hey guys, just curious as to how many of you currently play EHM (freeware) or used to play? I've been playing in this one particular league for almost 2 years now, we are in the 2015-2016 pre-season. We have 19 GMs, 11 openings. Most of the teams that are open are actually REALLY good, so there are only a few tweaks here and there needed to be successful. LOTS of parity in the league, so it shouldn't be difficult to fill the spots.

I posted this in the "Fantasy and Video Games" Forum (http://hfboards.hockeysfuture.com/sh....php?t=1094801) as well, but I figure I'd extend the invite to my fellow Ranger fans if you are interested. You can check out the details over on that board. It's under "WCHL2 - EHM Sim League"

P.S. I was lucky enough to get the Rangers when the league started. I've been a pretty strong team (made it to 3 straight cups, won 2 out of 3!) so it's been fun for me. Lots of knowledgeable GMs, dedicated Commissioner. Check it out if interested!

Download EHM v1.16. You can find it on fhockey.com

It's essentially the same idea as NHL EHM 05 and 07 except less in-depth. Still very fun though to play online with others.

Eastside Hockey Manager.

It was Hockey Simulation game created by a former poster on HF a good egg by the name of Risto Remes. The original version was made over 10 years ago and had the then current rosters. It was programmed to generate fake players so that the game could go on and on forever. He had people that would then create files for each draft so that you could download those players into the game.

It got so popular that he was moved from Finland to London to put his game on the same type of format as a popular soccer simulation software (Championship Manager) or something like that.

He had 2 releases under the Sports Interactive flag and published by SEGA. 2005 and 2007.

Due to piracy issues, they discontinued the brand.

I bought both commercial versions in 2005 and 2007 and still mess arounf with the 2007 version from time to time.

I could bnever get used to an on line league under that system. I'm more comfortable using the FHL or the STHS SIM Leagues.

EHM is probably my favorite game. my girlfriend thinks im crazy because you never actually play the game but she doesn't know. and i'm terrible at drafting PMDs for some reason they never pan out.
