ECHL Line Brawl Condors vs. Reign

Gotta say that I think the hit that caps this all off is clearly a charge. I mean it's hard to tell from the angle provided but to get that much speed? Had to of taken quite a few strides.

Also of note is the 2 on 1 that occurs that spurs the goalie fight. I'm not sure why the Reign player went to aid his teammate, seemed like a healthy scrap and then one of the Reign also wants to join?

No dog in the fight, but I'd say a dirty hit by the Condors, but some dirty fighting by the Reign. And some homered commenting.

Don't need anything after and including the "&".

Before I finish watching this, I just want to say that the goalie that did not take his mask off is one big ****ing coward.

Terrible announcers, and that goalie leaving his mask on was pathetic.

He was just trying to pull Estrada off his teammate. The other goalie challenged him.

I don't get why the goalie is expected to take his mask off. He wasn't instigating a fight, he was trying to prevent his teammate from getting pummeled 2 on 1. He's a goalie, not a fighter.

Then the opposing team's goalie came to pull him off but it's pretty clear the goalie with the mask still on starts throwing them first and then never takes off his mask. Of course these homer announcers conveniently forget to mention that.

These are some of the worst announcers I have ever heard, how in the world is that hit clean? GTFO.

Seriously, that goalie was disgusting. One of the most sack-less displays ever.

Goalie should've taken his helmet off. Classless.

I know nothing about these teams, but here's a theory:

Mike Montgomery
Defense

2005-06 Southern Minnesota Express NAHL 58 19 15 34 6 -- -- -- -- --
2006-07 Southern Minnesota Express NAHL 62 20 24 44 14
2007-08 U. of Minnesota-Duluth WCHA 9 0 1 1 0
2008-09 U. of Minnesota-Duluth WCHA 42 2 8 10 20
2009-10 U. of Minnesota-Duluth WCHA 40 2 15 17 16
2010-11 U. of Minnesota-Duluth WCHA 41 0 10 10 6
2011-12 Ontario Reign* ECHL 27 1 1 2 17 -3
2011-12 St. John's IceCaps* AHL Statistics Unavailable
2011-12 Houston Aeros AHL 5 0 1 1 2 1

Out of 17 PIM in 27 games, all but 2 came from this incident. And since all his PIM numbers in other leagues are even, I'm guessing this is Montgomery's first fight.

Estrada had just been cheapshotted at the other end, turns around and sees Montgomery who never fights getting thrown down and then punched on the ice, and the opponent making like he's going to throw at Montgomery while he's on his knees. At that point he just goes into rage mode and intervenes.

i dont see anything wrong with the hit tbh

no elbow, didn't leave his feet, he glides into him.

there has to be some onus on the players getting hit. you don't curl around the net with your head down anymore. you just don't.
