Oh man, that's a sexy lineup that the NHL/"NBC Sports Network/Hunting Channel" execs must be DROOLING over for tonights broadcast. Talk about a ratings EXTRAVAGANZA.

Reckless better like take off his skate and start stabbing people or go all Macho Man Randy Savage and drop some elbows on MSL or something.

The schedule isn't doing the Caps any favors. They have TB tonight, then a big game against the Panthers tomorrow as the second of a back-to-back. Then they're in Montreal on Saturday afternoon, and home against Boston Sunday afternoon, again the second of a back-to-back. And they play half of that without #8, and all without #19 or #52 (remember him?).

Ugh.

It's a good test for us - I am looking forward to it. I want the worst case scenario thrown at us right before the deadline, so George will not be deceived. Let him see the team he constructed last summer put to the test.

TBL recall Labrie. Rumored yesterday and with the Rechlicz recall I’m not surprised. That’s a bet I definitely would have lost if someone told me those two were going to play against each other in the NHL this season. (Yes, Labrie has already played some NHL games this season.)

Already expected Rechlicz to play given the contract/recall, this pretty much confirms it if Labrie is playing tonight. It appears a sideshow has arrived in TB for tonight's game.

In other TB news, reported yesterday that Hedman is expected to return for the Lightning for tonight's game.

They only had 10 healthy forwards before the recall as well, correct? Of course the Recker move would have influenced them to recall Labrie rather than another forward, but with them being shorthanded to begin with calling up a fighter adds another hitch to it. Boucher's going to have an interesting time managing minutes tonight if he's only got 10.5 forwards to work with (or whatever Labrie is worth).

The chatter yesterday was that the recall would be Smith or Labrie. I have to think Rechlicz's signing/recall had some impact on it being Labrie, although as indicated he has played other games for TBL this season, as has Smith. Not surprising, like Rechlicz in Hershey, there's a large group of fans in Norfolk who view Labrie as a fan favorite. I looked at his fight card and I didn't see Rechlicz on it, but he did fight Andrew Carroll in Hershey's home opener after Holtby and Labrie got into it. Labrie had a goal in the first of Norfolk's two games against Hershey this weekend and it was reported that Yzerman watched both Norfolk games.

I had a dream last night that Backstrom magically decided to return and play this game leading the team with 4 goals in a 9-4 rout.

Orlov please give Joe B. another opportunity to both notice and make mention of your hip check on Downie.

Labrie actually isn't much of a fighter after looking up his card. 5 AHL fights and 2 NHL pre-season for this year. He does seem to step up to the bigger guys when he does, but Carroll handled him fairly easy earlier in the season.

Can Recker fight... I mean fight well? Not the way Hendricks does.

Yep. He is a marathon type fighter too. He can straight throw them if he needs to, but likes to wear them down and just unload on the end. He has a weird knack of keeping refs from breaking fights up.

Love it.

Lets go Caps, try and win at least one of these 2 back to backs in FL. 3 pts would be even better!

I'm expecting a run and gun, physical, special teams filled game. Whoever gets the most PP goals will win here.

I expect the same effort level as V Boston. We need to find a way to win at least one of these two games to keep pace until Ovey is back. My serious hope is that the guys remember the level of effort once we start getting healthy.

by all indications there was some equipment failure going on there. i say this because joe b missed it. but so did laughlin. they both didnt see it? what were they looking at? add that there was no replay. that means that not one person in the production truck saw it either.

since nobody saw it, i'd have to say that something unseen or heard was going on there.

He's fought Engelland, PLL, Boulerice, Clackson, etc., and others at the AHL level. He has established a role for himself on teams, but he fights. You only looked at this year from the numbers you cited, 18 AHL fights last season, 7 the prior season, plus 2 NHL pre-season. I can't comment on his actual fighting ability once the fights start; look to hockeyfights and TBL/Norfolk or Manitoba fans for that info.

Early Vegas odds on The Recker Multiplier tonight... aka PIM to TOI Ratio ... 5.0

I hope he somehow get a hold of Downie, and forces him to show his home fans he wants nothing to do with a fighter. Validate his roster spot. Tail between his legs, I will keep my nose clean tonight thanks, if you just leave me alone.

The Chive, usually not safe for work, is my favorite website right now. No pron but damn hotness and tons of great pics.

SWhyno Twatters:
Asked Steve Downie if he'd fight if asked by Joel Rechlicz. "I don't know. We'll see." Didn't want to agree to pre-meditated fight.

Rechlicz on what he needs to do vs. TB: "Just be there at all times for the guys. That's my role. I just relish doing it."

Most Joel Rechlicz has played in NHL game was 7:23. Over/under for tonight set at 5:00

Hunter on Rechlicz: "He's a big guy and he's a physical guy. He's physical and we're on the road so we need a physical guy.

May's Twaht: - should be good mid game
newest player, Rechilcz starts his fights with, "Big Boy ready Big Boy?" Hershey players worship him & say he's perfect as enforcer
