I can just picture him and sully playing catch. Back and forth. Back and forth. Eventually they turn it over for an odd man break

I got yer "Shero Y U", right 'ere!

I think they should do this so that we have the smallest line in the NHL (more braggin rights!)

Sullivan - O'Reilly - Kennedy

I've been pondering which new Pens jersey I've been wanting to get. Problem solved

How could anyone hate this move? IT'S SAVING US MONEY!!!! lol

We pay half of like 323k. There isn't one call up in the minors that comes that cheap. This is purely a move to save us money for any deals we might want to make.

How is this any different from the Pens powerplay when Sid and Geno are on it?

I was just thinking to myself 'what this team really needs is an undersized winger with limited scoring potential.'

Not at the NHL level, though. Which is what matters. If Jacques pans out as a fourth liner in the NHL, he'll reach Parros. As a fighter, he won't reach that level. As an agitator, he has some value.

I'm not saying I wouldn't take a chance on Jacques, but why not just use Tangradi on the fourth line if we want more size and we roll four lines? It's not like Tangradi has a future under Bylsma anyway.

Ugh, people are actually complaining about someone we're getting for next to nothing?

If there is actually chemistry between him and Sully than I have nothing to complain about while Staal/Sid are out.

#TrustShero. He hasn't let us down yet.

Well it's good for you that O'Reilly doesn't fit any of those categories.

Seriously. How does it hurt to pick him up exactly? People just have no clue sometimes.

If I'm correct in saying we picked him up off of waivers for a 137k caphit, thus saving at the very least a shade under 400K in cap space. As well as this waiver pickup having developed chemistry with Sullivan in the past and possessing some slick hands in the offensive zone.

What's not to like? At the very least, we just cleared 1.8 in pro-rated cap room. And could possibly bring much needed secondary scoring until we're healthy.

I like Ray Shero, alot.

That's not what he was saying. He was referring to the fact the Penguins would never acquire a one-way contract for the farm.

I like it. At minimum, some deadline cap space is saved since he costs less than any call up from WBS.

If Shero catches some lightning in a bottle here he's an RFA at the end of the season. Picking up a player that might have some upside for essentially nothing while actually saving some money seems like a smart move to me.

Hmmm......

Refresh my memory, what is the consequence if we waive him later?

I generally like "acquire talent for nothing" moves, and the risk here is negligible to say the least. Can't say it is a move that does much to address needs for us though, and when Staal is back..... well.

Phoenix gets the first chance to take him back, then I believe the rest of the league.

Free offensive depth with some talent and upside.

Hard to find a downside here, if you ask me. If he does reasonably well, it might precipitate a deal involving one of our other small forwards.
