Looks like they are trying to rekindle O'Reilly's chemistry with Sullivan...

http://penguins.nhl.com/club/news.ht...escoop#11:03AM

11:03 AM:
As anticipated, O'Reilly is at practice and he's wearing No. 16. Asham is the only player not on IR that's absent.

Pens' lines:

Kunitz-Malkin-Neal
Cooke-Jeffrey-Dupuis
Sullivan-O'Reilly-Kennedy
McDonald-Park/Vitale-Adams

That's a small 3rd line though.

McDonald isn't really going to stay in over Park or Vitale is he?

is O'Reilly really *that* small? He's listed as 6' or is it that he just plays small?

No he's not that small.... Even the 5'11 180 listing isn't tiny. He just plays weak

Noticed that part as well. I'll be pissed if Vitale sits in favor of McDonald (or even Park).

That was the first thing I noticed too. I don't know why you wouldn't put Park on the wing over McDonald.

I'm sure we're all hoping Sully and O'Reilly really do have chemistry and bring out the best in one another but I'm afraid that TK on the other side of that line will kill anything they get going

I actually like McDonald's game. He adds some size to the 4th line and he's been getting chances. I just wish he'd hit the net when he gets those chances, but in his limited minutes, he's at least been able to get himself into positions to score a few times.

I wouldn't scratch Vitale for him though. Park is more iffy. He brings speed and pk ability that McDonald doesn't, but then we're really small on that 4th line.

I actually thought TK played decent in his last two games against Toronto. He wasn't just shooting the pucks at the goalie's chest pads every time. He might have done it a few times, but other than that he was forechecking like mad again and creating some havoc.

Of course like what happens with most players that have had sub-par or worse seasons, even if you play well and do some good things, it still doesn't matter if you make one bad play. That one bad play is all that sticks in people's minds and it immediately means you sucked and are a minus for the night.

Replace McDonald's name with Tangradi's name and you'd be spot on with his performances during his last call up too. Although, there is a contingent here that won't acknowledge that, and will poke fun of people saying such things, but I digress.

Agree, I think TK has looked pretty good these last two games.

Hopefully Sullivan O'Reilly Kennedy can be our new buzz line while players are still out injured.

TK has looked alright the past couple but he still ruins almost every good scoring chance his line gets, with 2 on 1s being especially infuriating. I remember several occasions the past couple where he refused to pass on a 2 on 1 and ended up chest sniping the puck.

I'll just be happy if that line starts contributing some offense. We need secondary scoring in a desperate way right now. When Malkin's line gets shut down, we've got nothing. If the O'Reilly line can fix that without being too bad defensively, I'll be a happy man.

Boston is going to destroy our bottom 3 lines of 'little people'. Why size and muscle are ignored by the front office is shocking.

They should recall MacIntyre or Tangradi for the Boston game. Even if it's JUST for the Boston game. Of course, they won't do it but they should.

The O'Reilly Factor

Personally I'm pretty excited about this acquisition. I can't wait to see how well he does on the Sully line.

Tangradi is a healthy scratch tonight in Wilkes-Barre (against Hershey, no less), so it sounds like you'll be getting your wish.

No what's shocking is you equate picking up a freebie off the wire with "ignoring size and muscle".

Did you have someone in mind this last off-season that would've fit our cap structure, or right now that we should've picked up instead (seeing as the deadline is still a few weeks away)? Who have they ignored that they had a legitimate chance at?

Well they did get rid of Godard and they waived MacIntyre. They clearly should have both of those guys still on the team playing on the 4th line. We would be so much better off.

the irish line eh?

Súilleabháin - Ó Raghallaigh - Cinnédidh

of special note, Kennedy is derived from ceann and éidigh meaning "ugly head."
