Yes, they suck on the road. I'm sure none of it is Mike Babcock's fault, though.

Tougher match-up in the playoffs, Wings or Hawks?

I look forward to Wings games more than most. They are just a great franchise and continue to be strong.

For us? The Hawks. For everyone else? The Wings.

Because the Hawks match-up better with their speed?

I agree though, the Hawks are _the_ team VAN has to go through to get out of the west.

Partially the speed and there's just less emotion. The less emotion, the more business as usual the Canucks can be and the more likely they are to win.

Best case scenario for us is that the Wings and Hawks wind up facing in the first round.

I also think Vancouver's one of the few teams that doesn't fear the Red Wings. They actually look forward to the challenge of matching skill with them.

Luongo gets the start per Vigneault as tweeted by Jim Jamieson.

I guess we're protecting Schneider from the #1 team in the West.

This will be the first game I miss in almost 3 years because I have to be at school Thursday night, so kind of disappointed.

3 keys for the Canucks:
1. Better puck possession! - Chicago dominated us last game in that category, lucky to have escaped with the win(thanks Schnieds).
2. Shots, shots, shots - Get shots, and a lot of them. Jimmy Howard has been great this season, the only ways to beat him are if we get rebound chances, move him laterally or get point shots with screens. Easier said than done though.
3. Contain Datsyuk! - Because you won't stop him. He's the best player on their team and if he gets the puck and space to work with it, it's most likely gonna end up in the back of the net.

My prediction: 3-1 Canucks Win, goals from Kesler, Burrows and Salo.

I wonder who Detroit will start in goal...Jimmy Howard the Great...or Jimmy Howard the Sieve?

All good points.

I think emotion would slowly creep into the series if the Wings were to meet the Canucks. Not to the level of the Hawks, but it would be there.

The Hawks' speed really gives the Canucks coverage problems - especially on the back end. We saw that in the playoffs, neutral zone play is critical. When the Canucks were able to stifle the Hawks rushes there, then a lot of their offense slowed down.

Our D cannot collapse like they did against the Hawks. Hopefully our D-Men play better and we get some goals by our Top 9.

Just what I thought. It's a 1A 1B scenario.

Wings are incredibly dominant at home, but sub-par on the road. Not trying to get presumptuous here, but I smell a shut-out for Louie.

4-0 Canucks

Daniel
Hansen (deja vu)
Booth
and of course, Hodgson

Anyone here think Edler will keep up his beast performance in this game? I think he said that it takes a toll on his body playing with a lot of grit? Not sure there, but wonder if he takes a night off though(while still being on the score sheet of course.)

Maybe another slapshot goal from hodgson too? I would assume that the coaches are starting to keep an eye out there for when he's on the ice now.

What's the game looking like for tomorrow though? * Paging the Witch. *

How many times has she had it right?

And yeah, it probably takes a lot out of Edler to play so physical. I think he was the only one throwing hits last night.
